I am beyond frustrated with this game. There is no CLEAR answer on how in the heck I am supposed to play with my wife. Everyone keeps talking about the 'tutorial'- I have played FIFTEEN HOURS! I have beaten the first 3 portals, currently on the desert map, just talked to Nelle and it seems like this one has a ton you have to do. When does it open up? I do not have the 'create a party option' I have missed out on a bunch because I want to experience it with my wife. I am sorry to any developer that reads this, but this is an awful design. Someone please help.

Also, I am hosting, even set a password- we have both completed multiple portals. This is such a great game, but this whole multiplayer thing has kind of ruined it for me.

So, much like other games there's two types of multiplayer for Nightingale.
One is a free host (You in the start menu choose host game and set up information)
The second is paid hosting, which means she can log into your world when you're not online, or you can log into hers, who ever you choose to be host.
One of you hosts, the other joins.
From the main menu, if you're doing the free option will be "host", you set up a password and just join the game as normal.
The person joinin will choose "join game" from the main menu.
This option will have two choices - Join VIA IP, or Join VIA Steam friends - they will choose steam friends, click the drop down, click on the friend to join, and enter the password information.
Ignore anything you see online for google results, as the game had a major overhaul to itself in 2024, and online servers were taken down due to no one using them in July.

The "tutorial" is just the start cave, where Puck tells you to jump through the portal and play a card in Abeyance to cleanse that realm

Now, because you'd be host, she'd get pulled to your world, think Character transfer like Valehim, or Terraria.
Her world save will stay on her PC, and she'll mesh with yours and play with you in your realm when you're online.
Her recruit will not come with, and she must travel when you travel, as servers are a one instance thing.
Just wanted to give you that warning ❤️

Yeah it's really rough, there's a couple of us trying to get the wiki finished, but with little time due to real life, and only 2 of us working on it, it's not been fast coming

As long as you're both out of the cave, she will get pulled to any realm you're in, with what ever she had on her character (inventory and all).
I've heard conflicting reports that she will need to type the port (7777) into the bar, but I've also heard it's just the password.

That sounds to me like you have some kind of access/permission issue on the system
Could be wrong, but I don't get popups from the game itself
