I made myself a 100 GS mining pick that had 3 enchants on it and 1 infusion I then upgraded it and that brought it up to 106 I think, but then I added a charm and it dropped the GS down to 92. Is this normal or do specific charms do this? The charm I applied was the charm of cleaving.

is the cause of the bug the charm being added or something else ?

When a charm is added to a tool, the bonus gear score from upgrading with enchants or infusions is partially reverted. Avoid using a charm and you'll be fine

It's only an issue until you get the better materials for pickaxes, since adding a charm won't reduce the GS to below 100 anyway

you can make an axe pick for harvesting that you dont put a charm on, then use others for melee only that you do put charms on, since GS doesnt matter really for weapons.
