A friend sent me this, and I am absolutely boggled. how did he make it? am I missing something?

From the looks of the materials used (bottom right "characteristics") your friend used quite a bit of decent materials! Since the game stacks every stat from each material used, it came out pretty decent!
Just a couple of notes though, so you don't get overwhelmed:
- Unless you own the explorers you wont be able to repair (assuming they gave it to you)
- it's not fully upgraded, so it can go one more tier higher 😉

Notice it says bound ichor and salt which you can't normally use for crafting armour, but some things made with bound ichor can be remade in to fibre. And it's not the first time this issue has happened. In a way you could say it's cheating but on the other hand it is currently in the game so.. 🤷 and this is still early access game, so am pretty sure things like these will get fixed eventually

Well, you can do it if you want just like some players did it before. Pretty sure no one got punished for doing it, cause it's more of a mistake in how the spice combines with other items. It can take away the challenge tho if you get really powerful items since everything becomes too easy
I'd also recommend not to use these items in public groups because that was very annoying for many players earlier but for solo play I doubt anyone else cares
