might be cheating but i did manage to get it my building foundations up to a point that i could use climbing picks to get up.

Until you have better picks, building is a valid strategy. I used to do it.

Now I can go up the tallest mountains I've found because my picks, food, and gear allow enough stamina to scale pretty much anything.

Good Stamina focused food + Thin veiled Realm card (if you can build the transmuter, you don't need to wait to complete the Fae tower to use one) + Climbing picks is my go.

I didn't know how good climbing picks were until I made high level climbing picks with good stats. Now I'm not technically a spider, but I move up a wall fast enough that if you saw me coming at you, you'd scream and try to hit me with a newspaper.
