I need to get an item from the Site of Gloom to finish a quest. It is the last item I need in my quest. I am able to enter the Site of Gloom just fine and even fight the first two mobs, however after a minute or so I get a Network Error and get Discoed, then I can't resume unless I quit out of the game, but then on restart the game puts me back at my Respite. I've tried this a few times now and I can play as long as I want in my realm, but after a few minutes after entering SoG I disco again. This has been like this since the hotfix today. Prior to this hotfix I have had no issues. I have over 90 hours of playtime now.

I've tested a couple times with people, and it seems if you can find someone to join your world and bounce your connection off theirs, then you both can complete it and it shouldn't boot you.
I can't promise it will always work, but it's worked a good few times when I joined people.

We had to open another abeyance and go in that realm's gloom site of power, as our local one was crashing us in repeat too.
Our local one was an underground kind of site where you go down and down, while the new one that didn't give us any issue was a weird wooden sorta tower... So maybe that difference is what did the trick... Or maybe it has nothing to do with it ^^

These are both good suggestions, since I've been playing blind up to this point, I don't have a group of friends that I know that own the game, so I'll try @shadow drift method first, then if that doesn't work I'll try @dusty isle method. My current SoG is underground as well. It has a really cool entrance as it is a shipwrecked boat on land that you can climb all over on top. Then the portal enters the bottom part of the boat. The very first time I went down I hit the odd scarecrow type mob that punted me down the shaft. I had my umbrella and met another one who punted me down to the bottom. I coudn't hit the guy down there, as he was immune. I have to figure out why as my tools do have magick attributes, but anyway I ran up a level and that is when I noticed I couldn't swap weapons. Then discoed. Since then I can't get past the first two mobs up top before I disco. I'll try a fresh realm to see if that does the trick after work tonight.

The immune mobs you're mentioning are given this immunity by the 'scarecrow' as you called it. You need to kill it first.

I understand that. I was asking about assistance on the network error, not the scarecrow, but I'm not upset. You helped me, and you method worked. I'm just trying to play blind.
