I checked this morning to see if the rollback worked and it didn't work for me . I'm still at the new realm and really want my old one with storage boxes. What information do I need to give you. I filled out the first roll back form . Do we post our IDs in this post?

I guess we have to keep in mind that the game is Early Access and as such, the servers might get wiped anyway between now and offical launch. I'm really enjoying it too but I knew there would be risks about losing progress etc. π

Yeah, awesome. So, I don't have a missing base (thank heavens), I just see all the characters spaz out uncontrollably all the time. I'm lucky it doesn't make me have seizures. Sent a video of same into the team, but haven't heard anything back in terms of whether they can help me or not. π¦
My biggest complaint is the report system, they need to just hire Steph an entire staff and have them here... She is what customer service should look be.

Hey folks. Just want to throw my hat in here, my Abeyance realm restoration is at least a week older than the 24h backup suggested when I filled out the form on Saturday.
I'm on Hunt now and it looks like my realm from the time of Herbarium.
First screenshot is the current, 2nd screenshot was taken on Thursday or Friday of last week.
"24 hr backup" was stated on Sat, meaning the backup was a save from Fri (as I understand it)
@faint walrus That's what I understood to be true, too. What was restored was at least a week old (early game); I only had 3 portals then, I had 6.
Filled out form again with notes about the above.

Well ideally a more reliable serialization of user + abeyance combination with distinct storage for those realms. What I build in any other realm I can afford to lose, but the abeyance realm is the source of storage/crafting/life for a realmwalker
This essentially eliminates the potential for me to play the game unless I can rely on that realm being properly persisted/hydrated when I return to play

Hello, I had sent the request for the roll back on march 10, just before the emergency fix, and the rollback still has not been completed on my character that was affected from the lost respite and loosing my base. it says the roll back is at a certain time, is that game time or real time, since its already been about 48 hours real time since I submitted the request.
To my knowledge we keep equipped items. I had just crafted a rifle and a revolver, and put them away for later, wishing I had left them in my bag, but hopefully it's just a 24 hour for me
when my base disappeared and they restored, everything on my character/follower was intact

I anticipate losing a lot of mats - had been doing jana runs for the meat - but am hoping my last base updates occurred prior to where it will be restored.... Even if it rolls back to where some of the excellent benches and higher augmentations are not crafted, if I can keep my equipped gear it will be worth it vs starting over with nothing other than what I have equipped. But only if I keep the equipped gear.

Rollback should be to approximately Friday Mar 8 (or the closest available backup). I can add you to my manual follow up for updates

Yes - I'm worried I'll lose lots and lots of Jana meat. Was just starting to make high end clothing. Thought I would try to farm enough for several pieces, and then craft them. Now wishing I had stopped to craft them piece by piece. Although the farming gets faster as you learn each of the possible interations for the vault I guess. Glad to hear you got back to your realm nevertheless.

Just so you know. My realm was earth like now it looks like mars [everything red] and it takes 2 or 3 tries to get back using the map and DO NOT use abyense cards to try to go home it will dump you randomly on someone else's land. Basically it still has issues. I would only Log out in your base.
Also, why is the close key not ESC anymore, this is a minor nuisance but really sucks to have to do extra steps after over 100 hours the other way, lol.
That sadly, is a side effect of logging in. It can happen at random. It's been reported a ton. (The escape key)

Sounds good. Just eager to get back to exploring, my crew is leaving me behind while his is going on, and after i discovered that a realm i had traveled to to perhaps store my gear and build a new home was also reset, i kinda am debating just calling it a wash and moving on. I got my world restored in the first batch, and it has not broken since, so you do not have to check. I've not really played tho, in fear of it breaking again π
Oh gotcha! As long as the Realm was in a confirmed good state after Sunday's patch, we haven't seen any new reports of resets

The rollback will only affect the Realm currently marked as your Respite Realm. If the Realm you want rolled back currently listed as your Respite Realm?

After the problem, I went to the swamp area to build a new rest area.
Is that why I didn't restore the forest?
I thought I did something to lose my world. I thought I reset my realm because I reset the portal in my respite realm and that it meant resetting the realm I was in or am leaving. I'm glad to know that wasn't the case. I've been paranoid to reset a portal since. Nonetheless, I have submitted the forms a second time now. I hope I can get back to it by the weekend.
It is not, is there still a way to get that original respite back then? I only recently set the new realm as my respite

If you can travel to the old one (via portals or Realm Card combinations) and set it as your Respite, you can submit a new request and we can do a rollback then. Let me know if you'd like to try this route?
Do we know if the realm resetting bug is fixed? I just wanna know because I wanna make a portal hub in a new realm so I don't run into the building cap, but if there's a chance it gets reset I don't wanna have to deal with that...

The fix should work on all Realms, we could only do rollbacks on Respite Realms because of volume at this time
Well actually, for more clarification, you're saying if this happens again, you theroretically could fix a non-abeyance realm? (Sorry if I am asking too much, I'm just wanting to make 100% sure)
Theoretically it's possible, but it's a much more intensive process so we'd likely only do it in extreme cases
Respite Abeyance Realms are definitely more stable and easier for us to recover (but hopefully it's not something we need to do often after this last patch)
Unfortunately portals to my old abeyance do not open. In the case of active fae portals that connected, they stay in the opening animation, and new attempts to connect simply don't work. I haven't reset the realm in hopes of still connecting to it at some point!

sometimes, even though it's updated there's like a final thing that needs a reload. Everytime I update Valehim I have to close steam to let it finalize

Has anyone reported an issue where the house has disappeared but the crafting stations/furniture etc. are still visible? Just ported back to respite from an ascended realm and I can see ell the stations etc. floating in the air but when I try to enter the house and interact with anything I get ejected back out of the house.

For some folks it reappears with a relog and/or verifying files, but if that doesn't work we're investigating

Before I got my new axe, I really did not have any issues with it. But it seems like felling a tree with one hit causes Massive Lagg spikes
It's being worked on, but something to try in the meantime is to check if you're on the latest GPU drivers
No, mine is pretty old. But I fail to see what gpu drivers have to do with network latency.... I can still move around, its just that it takes 1-100 seconds for the network to register felling the tree, at which point I'm teleported back to where I felled the tree

It's not necessarily network latency but bottlenecking getting your computer to catch up with what's supposed to be happening. Unreal 5 is notorious for requiring relatively up-to-date hardware and software and there's just no way around that.
Hardware "should" not be an issue... 13700K, RTX 4080, 96GB RAM @ 6400 MHz.... But yeah, Drivers from 12/12/23
I'm on two similar systems and I don't have any issues whatsoever. Are you hardwired or wireless? Drivers will also make a difference, especially with relatively newer cards.
Wired, 300/300Mbit. In sweden tho.
I'm on a wide open fiber pipe in the US, so I can't speak for anywhere else in the world, but I do know, driver versions will make a difference. I have my own development projects for a couple of other highly unoptimized games and older drivers make or break performance, especially in unity and unreal recent versions. It's something that you can easily try and it just might work for you. It's something you can do at least and the worst case scenario is it won't do anything.

my friend and i share an abeyance realm and have been together since launch, our builds sort of "overlapped" if you will just to increase the shop size for us etc...anyways we lost half. all of his abeyance is gone within the realm. Only my personally items placed in the build have remained. Not sure how to proceed XD we keep walking into invisible barriers too trying to access the current in game items. Heres a few images along with a before shot. The build was adjusted slightly since the before shot was taken but yea sad day.

I just had this exact thing happen too, 2 of the 3 buildings are fine, the third is gone, but the furniture is there
went back to normal somehow next day when i logged on not sure how or why, so keep your chin up. MAYBE not all hope is lost yet

I did, have noticed a lot of other little annoyances have disappeared since moving base as well, such as falling through the realm on login for a few moments, and the transmuter needing a card to be played twice to work. i think there may have been some residual bugginess in the old realm.

Did I miss the clarification on how and when the team will be distributing the "thank you for your patience" essence bundle? @autumn oak @meager gazelle ? After almost two weeks of communicating logs and info, and rebuilding, I could use essence, which is where I was at, gathering purple essence for some items, when it all went CHAOS!

It's a tricksy question with a multitude of possible answers on purpose. I was just trying to reality check the exaggeration (made by someone else) that made it sound like they were taking an unreasonable amount of time to fulfill their promise.

Aside from simply not understanding what Early Access means, you are a bitter and lazy creature. I'd almost bet people spit in your food whenever they see you rolling up to the drive-thru. They could have done nothing in the ways of compensation like most companies. They could have not even tried to fix the issue a couple week ago. They could have not come in and sacrificed their weekend to try and rectify the problem as fast as they could. But they did.
Early access is rough enough, and while everyone is entitled to their feelings and thoughts, being attacky instead of constructive is not a great way to go about it. -
Attacking said reply even if you don't agree with it, is not a good look either. People are allowed to feel upset, but it's how we respond to those feelings that can make or break a community. Let's try not to return salt with salt, and try to balance it out, offer reminders in the best way possible.

@young jungle So I received the essence compensation bundle which is much appreciated but my wife did not and we were sharing the same abeyance realm. I followed the link for submitting a ticket and put her info and what happened in the description. Is this all we are able to do for now? Also was curious if the compensation package is for the realm only and is to be split among all thar are on that realm or was each individual supposed to receive it? Much appreciated.
