Why are my portals being built like this? I cant use it or move it

Its under a roof, build them outside.

i have 6 built behind me under the roof, i didn't think it could be that! but you're right, how odd.

You could try adding the roof after the portal? But yeah its weird, like if you get it under a specific part of a roof then it just does the box version, must be some weird collision boxes on roofs which wouldn't surprise me, they are very finicky at the best of times.
