I went into a Hard Swamp Hunt realm. Spotted the essence trader icon on the map. Placed my own icon there (the kind that still shows up when you're trekkingc along so you don't have to keep opening your map). Set off.

I did some harvesting along the way, & by the time I got there I found a caravan - & no trader. The essence trader icon had even vanished from the map. I traveled away a bit to be sure I was in the right spot - no essence trader icon still.

So... can they die, or is this just a bugged instance?

I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago, in a Herbarium Swamp (extreme). Went to the essence trader icon, the wagon was there, but no essence trader, and the map icon disappeared when I got there. I completed the Fae tower, and the icon reappeared, but the site was still empty when I visited again.

Yeah something odd is up. I had a similar thing happen in another realm, but this time the icon moved. When I got to where it had moved to, the trader was there.
