  1. Not automatically deposit your most valuable burnable materials into the first fire they come across
  2. Not automatically deposit your most valuable resources into random structures, especially those you cannot get your full resources back from in the various building quests.
  3. Not automatically cut down ALL the trees in range of your Respite.

The most frustrating are 1 and 2 because 3 can be addressed by unequipping the ax. I cannot imagine a time when I would rather burn my very limited Tier 1 Logs rather than my Coal, so why does the AI insist on burning the wood first, and donating them to any random firepit I come across in the wilds? I cannot tell you how many times I've had to rescue my rare lumber from fires the AI decided to put them in. I also cannot tell you how many of these scarce resources I lost before I discovered that this was the reason I was missing resources. I understand they are trying to be helpful, but with help like this, who needs enemies to destroy you?

It would be very nice to have more control.

In the meantime, some workarounds

Don't give them an axe and they won't cut down trees. Give them a maul and it's pretty safe

Don't give them wood or, Alternatively, don't leave your fires running. (Tho out in the world it's harder)

For the random buildings... sadly nothing to do about it 😦
