Ive found it in power 50 realms, but it requires 200 pick power to mine

its not melee damage that determines what you can mine, its the power rating of the tool itself

On silver: I've found it in Desert realms. The guidebook says 50+ power realms, and I've found that to be true. I mined my first silver in a Gloom Desert.
