When placing these cards, my portal does not open but makes the sound. I keep clicking 'Reopen Portal', but it won't fix it. I have tried exiting the game, moving the portal etc but no fix. I am assuming this is a known bug, otherwise has anyone been able to overcome this?

i didnt had the problem with that kind of realm. Did u try (just for experimenting) join another realm and use the portal there? Otherwise try to reopen the game, reset the portal, put in Forest + Herbarium again and click the "Generate new world" (or smth like that) in the lower left corner. Maybe it will fix it.

Sure, but i bet the better go is my second advise. Maybe the world that was generated had a problem on its own.
