I cannot find salt! I had 3 in my inventory but not sure where from. I'm in Herbarium Desert realm

where i've found salt is on the "mountains" and they look like quartz/gems

so if you find some ore looking like quartz, its most likely salt

Ive got every gem and ore here it feels like. ive scaled mountains and around them, caves but nothing

have you tried making another Desert Herbarium?

in both my Desert Herbariums it was full of salt
