My theory is that it was like the safe shallows, I mean we can all agree. Then the aurora crashed. And to be clear some of yall may think the aurora landed on the base that bart had in the trailer but it was far far from the aurora crash area. What are your theories?

Hey Aeywoo! I'm reaching out on behalf of Fandom’s Community Activations team regarding Subnautica 2.

With the game expected to release soon, we are exploring the possibility of supporting the wiki around launch in collaboration with the Subnautica developers. Typically, this involves a temporary visual refresh of the wiki, with our team working with official assets to highlight the new release. This can include:
• A refreshed homepage layout themed around the new game, possibly including modules about the game (depending on what information is available pre-launch)
• Updated colors, key art, and promotional elements
• Some wiki page development using official materials (where helpful!)
These updates are usually temporary around the launch window (often around a month or so). After that, admins are free to keep, modify, or remove any of the changes depending on what the preference is here, and reverting anything should be simple to do.

Before we explore doing any of this, we wanted to check in with admins first to see if this is something the wiki is comfortable with. I also don't fully know if the wiki plans to cover Subnautica 2 or if the intention is to stick to the other games (I assume so, but figured I'd ask just in case - I know some wikis prefer to separate things more).

If a collaboration like this moves forward, we can also offer active admins a digital gift card as a thank you for your time and support during the activation.

Please let me know if you're interested or if you have any questions!

Have you played the game?
You may have just forgotten, but before the Aurora explodes the PDA says that the Aurora's nuclear fallout may have dangerous effects on the local ecosystem. Nuclear fallout, plus the radiation leaking from the Aurora should mean that it is nuclear.

snow knotBOT
#

I'm also pretty sure it's directly stated that it has a nuclear reactor. It was definitely carrying the parts of one, which is why Ryley can get the blueprint for it

I built the Cyclops before getting either of the other vehicles or a base. My mom said I should call it the “big beautiful sub”. I guess you could say the Switch 2 made Subnautica great again, lol. I’m really enjoying the updated steering on the Cyclops for controllers and the mouse mode is also very cool (WARNING: since Switch 2 controllers aren’t shaped like a normal computer mouse, it can start to hurt your arm a bit if you use the mouse mode for too long in the wrong position. I learned this the hard way.). I wanna get the Cyclops sonar because when I tested the Seamoth one briefly in Creative, it looked the way it used to on the Switch version before they updated it, and I liked it that way. We’ll see if the Cyclops one looks right too. They had to change it a bit on the Switch because it made the game run badly, but the Switch 2 doesn’t have that problem.

#

I have encountered a glitch where sometimes after exiting a storage, I cannot move. This is fixed by accessing and exiting the storage again. I have also encountered a glitch where I couldn’t select anything on my PDA even when I put it away and pulled it out again, and I was able to fix it by physically tapping the screen with my PDA open. This glitch only happened once, so maybe it is a rare glitch. Kinda wonder what other new glitches I’ll run into.

What xbox are you using? I used an xbox one s which is one of their weakest offerings and it ran fine except for the mushroom forest and some structures not loading in. No frame rate drops at all

snow knotBOT
#

@Mackeyandcheesie The steering was updated many months ago on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox. The Switch didn't get the update because the primary purpose was to align the game with the newest Unity engine model, which the Switch didn't have problems with. The update has been out for a long time now, but it's my first time trying it. The Cyclops used to be stuck trying to turn left or right when you only wanted to go forward, but by now you are probably used to the updated steering controls.

#

@Mackeyandcheesie I'm pretty sure I have the exact same type of Xbox. Subnautica ran just fine, but BZ was a little meh with the fps. The 2025 update seems to have fixed it though. It also doesn't help that my Xbox is an old used one, and the fan isn't in great condition. With the prices of GamePass, I don't want to invest in a decent Xbox though.

So i was playing for my first time ever (I just got the game lol) and after a few hours i went to check out the Auroura and it started the24 hour countdown and i have no idea how to get in to turn it off bcause all the entrances are blocked and I do not have the tools to get in. Anybody know how to get in or what happens when the timer goes off??

You don't get in. The explosion is scripted and required to happen, if you want to progress the story. There's no way to stop it. Just get away from the aurora.

Takeaways:
The building system has a complete rework in SN2, being the most advanced in the franchise thus far
Bases will now use procedural sculpturing or whatever (already knew that)
Bases now have a LOT more customization
Players should be able to paint their base, toggle lights on and off, etc in the future
Building tool redesign
Keep Calm poster is staying!!!!! (seen in the 3:34 mark)

If the Squidshark is a Leviathan then so is the Crabsquid

Funnily enough, the Crabsquid seems to be significantly larger than the Squidshark in terms of mass. Here, I scaled both human models to equal size to get the size comparison. Courtesy of RevxGaming.

#

Yes, your point does indeed stand. The Crabsquid would be classified as a leviathan if the squidshark was too. I'm pretty sure that most people now interpret the Squidshark's entry as 'as strong as a leviathan', not 'is a leviathan'. I wish Unknown Worlds could update Below Zero and finally give us a clearer distinction by either removing that part of the entry or rewriting it to 'as strong as a leviathan' word for word.

snow knotBOT
#

And a mother thing! If you look deviously close to the background, it looks like spikes going to the side, like the Craig field. But they ain't no reapers there!

snow knotBOT
#

It took a while, but it was unusual and fun to do. When I launched, every text in the cutscene popped up 6 times, which was kinda silly. If you find a time capsule with a silly picture of a flying Reaper Leviathan and a message talking about how awesome the Switch 2 version of Subnautica is, that was me.

So basically, my younger brother tried to tell me the thing that looks like an antenna on top of the Seamoth and Prawn Suit is a lever to open the hatch. That makes no sense at all. For one thing, it is much larger than necessary and would realistically open the hatch on accident whenever it bumps into anything too hard, which is incredibly inconvenient. On the Seamoth, its placement at a distance behind the hatch would not be convenient at all if you had to pull it every time you get in. Also, there are clearly handles on the Seamoth and Prawn Suit hatches for opening them. I tried looking at the pages for them, but I couldn’t find anything saying what these so-called “levers” actually are. Does anyone here have any confirmation on what they do?

Know how Riley has to pay off a trillion credits? Well he could HEAVILY MODDIFY the rocket so it holds 2-4 seamoths all with 4 storage modules, then fill all of those with crash fish, and hold a prawn with one drill, and the rest are 1 depth module and 2 hull reinforcement. Then he would launch towards alterra head quarters and deploy the seamoth bombs on top of them. Then use the prawn to commit genocide in alterra. Fun little chaos I made up. 😋

I'm a new player, I'm just almost on the stage of the sunbeam landing, haven't been to the Aurora, so please don't include any spoilers past my level, and don't tell me where/how to do/find stuff, wanna figure it out myself. I found enough fragments and have all the materials to make a seamoth, but I don't know how to make it and place it down. Can someone help? Will I find the way to make one later in the game, or am I just missing something?

#

On the island where Sunbeam lands, there are little crab-like creatures that sometimes jump. They occasionally attack me, although don't seem to be actually agressive. Can you please just help me find their name? Just the name, I don't need any spoilers

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
#

Your mistake was saving.
Should've just quit. or atleast tried using your jump pack when you got stuck.
But you'd need to craft a new prawn as well as any arms attached to it.
Just incase it happens again, always save before exploring risky areas. by risky I mean anything that requires you to DESCEND ALOT or has reaper leviathans i.e dunes or aurora. the reapers can clip you through the ground if they grab you at the right time and angle since they can (for some reason) swim through the ground.

If you are at that stage of the game you must have found some mobile vehicle bay fragments. As of now I am on my first playthrough too. This game might confuse you regarding crafting because you can't craft everything in the fabricator (trying not to give any spoliers) You need the Mobile vehicle bay to craft the seamoth, after crafting it from the fabricator swim to the surface, have the mobile vehicle bay in your hotbar and then deploy it. You will see an option to climb it after deployment, then craft and enjoy your seamoth :)

#

Look in the kelp forest or wrecks in the kelp forest and safe shallows if you want to find the most fragments for the mobile vehicle bay. If you get stuck trying to find out how to build vehicle upgrades, I know a good place to find the vehicle upgrade console blueprints.

In the grassy plateau that's the closest to the spawn, there's like a wreck or whatever that's called. My scanner room shows a ton of fragments there. First of all, could someone say some of the interesting fragments from there? Secondly, the door there is "locked", and it asks me to cut it open. I tried using the survival knife, but it just shows 0% and doesn't change. I might've just missed, but I didn't wanna stay there for a long time because I'm scared of sand sharks. SO my second question is, how to open that door?

snow knotBOT
#

Lol you actually thought a knife could cut through a titanium door?
No that's not how it works. You need a Laser Cutter, you should find pieces of that to scan inside the crates around Grassy Plateau. Since you have a Scanner Room already you can set it to search for pieces to help you find them if you are having trouble.

snow knotBOT
#

Yeah I knew that you must be new, but you have to be realistic. Even if the door was made of wood or plastic it would still be tough to cut through it with a knife, especially underwater as the pressure would greatly reduce the force of your strikes.
Don't take this to yourself, it's just that I found it hilarious that you did not even presume you were missing the correct tool.

snow knotBOT
#

It's a game after all, you never know what is realistic and what is not, but yeah, I guess that sounded funny

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
#

Actually this youtuber said that a HEAT KNIFE can cut faster than a laser cutter but it takes many steps to get while laser cutter is a few. And yeah...

Well, it turns out all of the FNAF games are T because of "Fantasy Violence". Which Subnautica also has. And yet Subnautica is listed as E10+. Subnautica also has Mild Language. ...And yet it gets a lower rating than the game with only Fantasy Violence. Either there's something I'm not getting here or ratings are complete bullshit.

My friend who has beaten Subnautica told me that it's not too dangerous to got to the front of the Aurora, the back is what he said is dangerous. I assumed the front would be the thinner part that's in the Bulb Zone. However, I looked at Bulb Zone on the wiki page and it said that a Reaper spawns at the Southern part of the Bulb Zone. I honestly don't wanna meet any Reapers. Did I misunderstand him and is the front actually the part that's closer to the spawn, or did I misunderstand something else?

snow knotBOT
#

The front has less reapers but if you stick to the side of the already exploded aurora then you can by pass it. They dont usually come towards the inside.

I was swimming out of my moonpool, and just as I accelerated I accidentally turned my mouse and hit one of the moonpool's legs, breaking my first seamoth. It also had my sonar that I found in a time capsule (I don't have any magnetite nor a Prawn Suit to collect some). RIP.

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
#

I've never beaten the game, so I might not know some lore, but why does Ryley never have to sleep? No solar panels work at night, so if there was an early-game function to skip night somehow by sleeping, it would make sense in the lore and would be less annoying, because you wouldn't have to wait until your scanner rooms worked again. Once again, maybe there is some explanation in the lore though, so let me know if there's something

snow knotBOT
#

@Dinamikis Start in the middle of the side of the ship and hug the wall while approaching the front of the ship. You will find an easy opening into the ship before you encounter the Reaper Leviathan.

snow knotBOT
#

Ok, but I meant early-game. Beds' fragments are hard to get, they are in Bulb Zone, Aurora, Mountains, and Grand Reef. Those are some of the most unwelcoming biomes early game, so you won't get them. Later on, you can of course you thermal plants, nuclear or bio reactors, but the game doesn't force you to sleep and it's not even easy to do so

snow knotBOT
#

I might be slightly late, but for me the Sparse Reef is the chillest, it has no enemies but Tiger Plants and Bleeders. I'm just starting the game tbh, I've never beaten it, but the Grand Reef is honestly terrifying. Just the fact that there are 2 Ghost Leviathans always unsettles me, just that black with a chance of meeting that thing is just the tiebreaker for me. I haven't been to the Lost River, Sea Treader's path, and a few other biomes, so I don't know about those

Soooo I was going into the lava zone so I could cure the disease but umm... A warper teleported me out of my prawn suit when I was going down into the Lost River by the Blood Kelp zone and I went to get my prawn suit but It sank through the ground. I don't want to use cheats or nothing since it will disable achievements. Your probably thinking, Just make another one, right? Well my prawn suit had like 10 Ion cubes and every tablet. What do I do 😭

#

Floating Island as well as Jellyshroom Caves are pretty easy to access, the only real threats are the tight spaces of the Jellyshroom Caves (oxygen is small early game), the Crabsnakes, and the depth (unless you have rebreather, less oxygen efficiency; and the Seamoth wouldn't work as well unless you have Depth Module Mark 1).
Floating Island has Cave Crawlers and is pretty far away from the Safe Shallows. Not really that dangerous compared to the other options.

snow knotBOT
#

You sure you don't wanna use cheats? I just had the achievements problem myself, but there's a mod that turns them back on. Can't think of anything better anyway

Idk then, sorry. This bug is on wiki, but it doesn't suggest any solutions, so I'm guessing if you can't use cheats or mods, you won't be able to retrieve it. I'll let you know if I find a solution tho

I established a base in Crystal Caves, and living there is truly great, even with the presence of the Leviathans.

I built two bases, my main one and a very small one that serves as the scanner.

• I built both bases with the scanner because the biome is really large; I need two scanners to move around safely and to search for the various ores found in the biome. One scanner is for searching for ores, and the other is for safety, as it marks the two Shadow Leviathans that surround the biome, allowing me to cross safely. In addition, I can get incredible views of one of the Leviathans swimming in the northern part of my base, as you can see in the image above.

I chose the Crystal Caves because it's a very beautiful place with a great atmosphere, and it's also great for mining ores. The only problem is the Shadow Leviathans that surround the biome.

If you ask me why I don't try to kill the Leviathans to make the biome 100% safe, I like a bit of a challenge, and it also makes the biome much more alive with their presence. I don't have as many problems with them thanks to one of the Scanner Rooms that can mark them so I can go to the other side. I actually get a lot of ores in the biome because of the Crystal Rift, which has many raw ores that can only be mined with the Prawn Suit. I also regularly switch my prawn arm for safety, using the toperdo to traverse the biome and then the drill arm to mine the ores. I use the grappling hook for extra mobility and to be more evasive when dealing with the two Leviathans.

snow knotBOT
#

I wanna build a scanner room in the Jellyshroom forest, but 2 sand sharks snuck in there. They aren't a huge problem, but when I try to install something deeper, they attack me, forcing me to use a med kit. Can anyone either suggest a place to quickly find a stasis rifle fragment (I scanned the one in the Safe Shallows) or to get the sand sharks out of there quickly without a stasis rifle

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
#

The nuclear reactor is my go-to. I use two solar panels until I get the resources and blueprints for the nuclear reactor. One reactor with all four rods is way more than enough to last until the end of a normal game.

#

Sand sharks can only attack you easily if you are standing still. As long as you keep moving around a bit, you shouldn’t even have to get rid of them. If you still do want to get the sand sharks out of the way, the repulsion cannon is another great option as long as you have the blueprints and the modification station. The blueprints for the repulsion cannon can only be found in certain data boxes and data terminals, but there are multiple places to find these.

#

One time I zapped the first shadow to death and trapped the second in a cage. It ruined the crystal caves. I don’t think I ever wanna do it again. Killing leviathans just feels like it makes biomes pointless (except for sea dragons, they can die).

I always look a place near a volcanic vent, thermal reactor despite slower than nuclear but its the best and you dont have to build anything other than the thermal reactor it self or feed anything to it.

snow knotBOT

@VanGaudinho I would say that thermal power is definitely the next best option. The power/price ratio with nuclear and thermal is enough that bioreactors and solar power can become redundant in the mid-late game. I used to use thermal before I memorized where to get nuclear reactor fragments. I still do use thermal sometimes, and I am probably gonna build thermal plants soon in my current BZ game.

What is the downside to bioreactors? They are easy to make and feed them using an exterior growbed.

@Victor Drunkenstein There isn't necessarily a downside as far as I can tell, it's just that it doesn't have the same upside that all the other power sources have. Bioreactors are the only ones that require very much management. If you can get past that, they're miles better than solar with the correct sustainable fuel. I personally do not prefer to use the bioreactor, but it certainly is a good choice. In reality, Subnautica has the most well-balanced power generation system in any game I have ever played. Every power source is great in its own way.

I DIED IN THE JELLYSHROOM CAVE AND LEFT MY SEAMOTH IN THERE HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP
I had storage upgrade, perimeter defense, and mk1 depth i need help

@Camo4546 What upside? Solar panels and Thermal plant are endless but you can't just use them anywhere you like. If you build a base far from either natural source it will take a lot of power transmiters to get your base working.

When farming materials I use a technique where I build a temporary base which only has a multipurpose room and a scanner room in the area I wish to farm. And I build a bioreactor to power it. Then I place a growbed nearby and plant a Gel Sack in it. I knife it twice to get 2 seeds, plant them, then throw the sack in the reactor. By the time it's used up 2 more are grown then I just double the yield until both the reactor and growbed are full. Then when I'm done I just deconstruct it and move it to the next area I intend to farm.

You think I could do this with other power sources? With a nuclear reactor perhaps but I would waste the rods that way when deconstructing. Gel sacks, however, I couldn't care less as I just regrow the plantation from a single one each time.
And they also have the benefit that I can eat them in case of emergency.

#

@Victor Drunkenstein I hadn't considered a scenario like that. Temporary bases for harvesting honestly sounds like a great idea and I should try it sometime. As for the power transmitter issue, they actually have more range than you'd think. They wouldn't be efficient for temporary bases, but you could connect all your permanent bases to the same power network running on something more long-term. As I already said, all the power sources are very balanced in Subnautica and they all have their own advantages.

snow knotBOT
#

Well, the best solution I can think of is crafting a new one, finding the old one, taking the upgrades (just in case), and then slowly driving both out of there. Or take a rebreather and a few oxygen tanks (or bladderfish). Depending on where it is, that might be enough

#

@Victor Drunkenstein Yeah, I also like to do that with resources where 2-3 visits isn't enough. Over the last day I finally unlocked the multipurpose room, and I found that strategy from like a Youtube Short lol. Bioreactor is also awesome for my base in the Jellyshroom, because Oculus gives insane energy

Are there any deep shrooms in the **Southern **Blood Kelp Zone? My seamoth has MK1 module, so I can't really go anywhere below 350m (300m for the seamoth and 50 more with the rebreather). Can anyone tell me if there are deep shrooms in the Southern one at all, or only the Northern one? The wiki also says there are some in the ST's path, but I couldn't find any. Can anyone help?

5 Reasons why The Stasis Rifle is the best:
1. The reason why you are still alive
2. The reason why all those leviathans are dead
3. It affects everything but you and your stuff
4. Easily obtainable fragments from any Degasi seabase
5. The Alterra Stasis Rifle: Life's fast. Why not put it on pause?

There is one forest directly east of your lifepod, near the side of Aurora's bow, and one north-northwest. Both have lots of fragments, but the north one is a bit bigger. You have to pay attention and not go too far, though, because there are dangerous biomes adjacent to them.

@Kommandjsdf You should see me in the group I got stuck with for one of my college courses. I’m always the one who has to explain all the assignments to the other students. And yet, pretty much every single assignment over the entirety of this semester needs more direct and informative instructions because none of us ever know what we’re supposed to do well enough. It also doesn’t help that there are basically multiple instructions for most assignments and they all say to do different things. I’m used to being the informative guy because nobody else makes enough sense in my experience.

Hey umm...
Where's the entrance to the lost river from the Sparse Reef?
I read somewhere that there is one there

I found the alien cave ion cube thingy in the sparse reef, if that helps
I tried to go to the LR thru the blood kelp zone and was immediatley Ambushed by a ghost leviathan.

Go into the blood kelp trench and keep going down. When you start seeing that green acid stuff pooled up on the ground, you'll know you reached the entrance. Also keep an eye out for nuclear reactor fragments nearby if you don't already have those blueprints.

snow knotBOT
#

So I just had to repair my base. I repaired all the holes and the computer said the drainage system activated... but the water's still there, and is not coming down. There's literally no breach, so I don't understand what's happening. I looked online and I saw others having the same problem, but no solution for my case.

Buddy, if you wanna kill a leviathan, there's no easier way than with a stasis rifle and thermoblade. (If it's a sea dragon, thermoblade won't work. You'll need a regular knife.)

snow knotBOT
#

Ok, sorry, forgot to specify. I'm not actually killing a Ghost Leviathan, obviously it takes like 5 hours with the prawn. I just brought that guy up as an example, because a drill arm is obviously more effective for killing small passive fish in high amounts, because it's much easier to hit. I know I can sometimes give confusing examples, but what I really meant is what's better for single-target attacking, not judging the overall benefits like range

I built a nuclear power plant with 4 reactors in the vent gardens biome because there's a bunch of reactor rod resources there. I tried to connect it to my main base via power transmitters only to find out that they cannot link bases' internal power sources.

snow knotBOT
#

A similar thing has happened to me. Also, I once tried to parkour off a transmitter with my Prawn Suit, just to later find out that landing on them literally breaks them. I once spent like 30 minutes trying to install one to transfer the energy from a thermal reactor just to get a bioreactor in the end. I had so many "incidents" with power transmitters (in the base game) I just stopped using them at some point. I haven't even entered the Lost River yet, so I haven't even played that much Subnautica, but I'm already traumatised by the experience with power transmitters, I feel like they just don't like me personally

I don't think the Sparse Reef has an entrance to the Lost River. Maybe it does, but I never found one.

snow knotBOT

Leviathans usually have simple names (at least in the base game), like the Reaper, the Ghost, the Sea Dragon, etc. I think this one would also have a simple but meaningful name, like a Crusher Leviathan or something. It would be about the size of a Sea Dragon (112m), maybe slightly smaller (~100m). I don't think it would make a lot of sense to put it in a real biome, as it's too big for a "tight-space" biome and basically all open biomes have Leviathans already. My best bet out of real biomes is the eastern edge of the Bulb Zone, because while the Bulb Zone technically has a Reaper, let's be honest, that Reaper is basically in the Crash Zone, and Bulb Zone is the only "unoccupied" open biome I can think of

Im just now going 300 with my seamoth to get a life pod and now i have to go down to 500 to get it now and ive only play for 13 hrs.. and saying NOPE to any load roars. lol

snow knotBOT
#

Idk, I made a few assumptions and calculations that showed the monster at about 300m. I roughly estimated the part of the tail that's not visible and didn't even account for the monster not showing his full length, his body isn't straight. I'm also not sure what ship that is, but I assumed it to be a Spanish galleon (those are ~48m on average), as it has an enlongated bow and overall a similar structure, but if there are any ship experts, correct me pls. Is it correct? Definitely not. Why did I do this? No idea. But it looks interesting

snow knotBOT

I know I'm late to discussion but has anyone consider that maybe she did get infected but the carar was dormant? It is a known medical condition afterall. Someone got infected >> no symptoms/illness >> live fine, but could spread infection.

Or maybe she didn't get infected in the first place? (I am unsure if she developed the symptoms, the log say it collectively, but Maida seem well enough to hunt a reaper.. so...)

I also think these are the case of MOST fishies in subnautica. Otherwise nothing in the planet would live past a month unless it ate a lot of peepers, which obviously does not live in every biomes.

PS. Still pretty new to the fandom, this is just my speculation plus handwave at the "Maida eats a lotta peepers" that was said

snow knotBOT
#

Try it with a cyclops its hilarious
Cyclops breaks leviathan's attack pathfinding (tested: reaper, ghost, ghost juv) and it just becomes a headbutt contest because they are only rarely able to bite for some reason
P.s. cyclops wins automatically because submarine glass is harder than reaper skull :)))

snow knotBOT

You need to find a way into the lost river, where you can get the last resources you need for certain upgrades, that is nickel and crystalline sulfur, and an entrance to the inactive lava zone where you can get kyanite
Mind lost river is like between 500m and 1000m deep so you ideally want cyclops depth 2 and prawn depth 1 to explore it fully, also prawn grapple to get around and prawn drill to mine large resource deposits (kyanite is almost exclusively large resource deposits), and get the prawn jet upgrade when you have the nickel and sulfur for it
And dont take the seamoth down there, it not only doesn't have the depth cap to get everywhere but it's also far too fragile, enemies there can kill it easily + it doesn't protect you from damage in the acid pools unlike prawn and cyclops (cyclops doesnt fit in the acid pools anyway but yes)

In Safe Shallows, I had two solar panels until I got to Jellyshroom Caves, where I placed a Thermal Plant on a 100°C geyser and used Power Transmitters to hook it into my base. While in Jellyshroom, I grabbed two Oculus fish and placed them in an Alien Containment to multiply.

My second base was in The Lost River at the entrance to ILZ (~910m down). To start that base, I grabbed materials for two multipurpose rooms, a bioreactor, an alien containment, and two hatches. Plus, 3 Oculus from my main base. Slapped the buildings down, placed the bioreactor and put 1 Oculus in for initial energy, then placed the alien containment and put the 2 remaining Oculus in. They multiply far faster than they can be used.

Bioreactors are slow in energy generation, so as my base grew, I transitioned to nuclear power. The game gives you SO MUCH uranite, and you only need so little to power a base indefinitely and quickly.

#

I am at the same point as you, and i found that the endgame cave is great to advance in the story

snow knotBOT

There is an entrance in the blood kelp trench too. They both exist. The trench entrance is closer, but I always take the deep grand reef one because it's near my home and I like stopping by the Degasi base for blueprints.

So I was playing with my friend today (using Nitrox) and I found a ghost ray on the border of Grassy Plateaus and the Northeastern Mushroom Forest. And no, I didn't make a mistake, not a Jellyray, a Ghostray! I couldn't just confuse the 2 because 1. I can clearly tell the difference and 2. my scanner confirmed that that was, in fact, a ghost ray. And then, 30 seconds later, I saw an Oculus in the Safe Shallows nearby! I have a few screenshots, but he has the server, so I can't upload them rn, I'll maybe add them later. Can someone tell me if you have encountered that bug before in vanilla or maybe that's just a Nitrox thing

snow knotBOT
#

I've had Oculuses swim up into the Grassy Plateaus/Safe Shallows, but I've never seen a Ghost Ray come up into the Mushroom Forest. Or any other surface biome, for that matter. It's definitely possible that it has nothing to do with Nitrox, but who knows?

snow knotBOT
#

I suspect it has something to do with terrain loading, as when the terrian unloads, no barrier is present to prevent a Ghostray to come up into the surface. But that isn't really possible since the game should also unload fauna. Quite a baffling mystery.

What Mushroom Forest were you in?

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT

Oh, yeah, I can relate to that. Like take the crabsnake, the crabsquid, and the cave crawler, and try to guess which one is NOT named after a crab lol

snow knotBOT

Speaking of them, I went into the LR via the Northern BKZ and the ghost leviathan attacked me so i left and i swear i still hear ghost screams from my base in the safe shallows.
I think he followed me home 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

snow knotBOT

The blood crawler isn't named after a crab but none of those have anything to do with a crab whatsoever

It would be so cool if like there was a giant RBL (reefback Leviathan) that was posing as an island because it's asleep and at random times it would just go underwater and then just move to a different place kind of like those giant whales from the legends

Hi thanks, Yes I have been studying for 6 years in Latvia and now back in Norway and have some time to playtest. The wiki team here had some issues and that's why I haven't been active or have my admin title so the motivation for wiki was killed by the issue. However, Subnautica 2 is in the works and times are blooming now as Charlie is back in office at Unknown Worlds, so there is hope to get involved yet another time. Maybe not here but for in-game development.

snow knotBOT
#

Pretty sure Lost River is the "shallowest" place that has Nickel, I am set for life with the Large Deposits, try to find those in the brine. I think there's also some Nickel in the ILZ, but the entrance there is in the Lost River, so that kinda kills the purpose. I'd say just use the Deep Grand Reef entrance and look in the Ghost Canyon and Corridor (not to be confused with Ghost Forest and Mountains Corridor lol)

snow knotBOT
#

I used to share the same problem, but although I generally don't kill Leviathans to not make the game boring, I just crashed out and killed the Ghost in the Bones Field

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT

Yeah but ig the cave crawler at least looks somewhat similar to a crab, but it is the one to not be named after a crab

Game theory what if biters are baby reaper leviathans

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
#

ITS NOT JUST A THEORY. ITS A GAME THEORY!!
Ps. Wouldn't they have the large mandibles?

#

I mean, I get it, it's a theory, but their body structure is like completely different? No hate, but they basically look nothing alike

snow knotBOT
#

Ok, I take it back, they are slightly similar, but their eyes are way too different imo and Reapers canonically use echolocation while there's no evidence of Biters doing the same. By the way, @Fanoman67 , you are back! Haven't seen you in a while

snow knotBOT
snow knotBOT
#

Nah bro, I actually kinda see it, but there are a lot of differences. My theories are so bad if I posted them I would just immideatly get banned, this one isn't that bad

#

Maybe the Lost River was a lot bigger before the eruption of the volcano where the game takes place and cooled magma covered up some of the entrances making the remain entrances very small

Call me a noob, but did some testing in creative and I still can't figure out how to get past the Sea Dragons. I don't wanna risk my Cyclops if there's a way not to, so pls just tell me if there's a way to get to the Thermal Plant without having to face the Sea Dragons or if I should just start preparing

#

As long as it gives us some sort of information about what the Leviathan really was or how it died if they told us that in below zero they should totally add it

#

Go check out my other game theories My next one is going to be on the rock puncher in below zero and I've posted a few on the gargantuan Leviathan skeleton

#

What if the rock grubs in normal subnautica are some sort of baby rock punchers that somehow ended up in the crater and because of the climate there they can't grow into adult rock punchers but that's just a theory a game theory!

I just built the hull reinforcement for my prawn thinking it would protect against ghost leviathans spicifically, bcuz it does say protects from collision damage.

I just read that it only protects from terrain damage.

Is the wiki page right?

snow knotBOT
#

Unfortunately, yes, it is. Do you just not kill Leviathans to keep the game interesting? If so, enter from the Grand Reef and search inside the brine in your prawn, there's plenty of nickel there if you're still searching for it. If not, just kill it with a stasis rifle and a thermoblade, doesn't take that long

#

Not long actually, I was on about full oxygen (225) when I started killing it, and ended up on ~30 when I finished, so it took about 3 minutes of slashing him with a thermoblade (following your posts, I'm sure you have it at this point)

snow knotBOT

snow knotBOT

That would make rock punchers canibals. Also, you don't get a rock grub when you hatch a rock puncher egg in an alien containment. It just produces a tiny rock puncher.

The crab squids don't hurt your Cyclops much. When you enter the lost river, you will be in a very safe portion of the cave system. Get in your Prawn Suit and start searching for drillable nickel inside the acid lakes. You can also find some crystaline sulfur there.

So now with the next gen update/ the 2025 update it specifies this isn't a bug and instead adds two new mods to the Snowfox to decrease the spawn rate of the ice worm and decrease the chance to get knocked off

Today is a pretty big day! After a long 152 in-game days or almost 2 real-life days of the most hilarious, intense, inefficient and straight-up terrible (in terms of my skill) moments of playing Subnautica, from not being able to deal with Sand Sharks and not being able to place down a Seamoth to this, I beat Subnautica by curing Kharaa and building the Neptune. My final achievements:
"Big Bro" the Cyclops
":)" the Seamoth (RIP)
"Lil Bro" the Seamoth
"Twin" the Prawn Suit
"Wheatley" the Cuddlefish (credit to @SansHorrorfell for the name)
An unnamed Cuddlefish (Just to credit @SpiderMonke , a fellow Crabsnakes fan, I will name it Pheonix)
"The Boss" the Neptune Rocket
A base in the Safe Shallows (lol) and the Lost River Bones Field
I had to sacrifice a Reaper, 2 Ghosts (1 of them being a Juvenile), and a lot of other, less significant creatures. I haven't launched the Rocket yet, because, as far as I'm concerned, that will completely end the game. Tell me a few fun things to do before that (

that won't take another 150 days please, just something fun).
Maybe this is a slightly dramatic speech, as I'm not even leaving the fandom yet, but I liked the save so much I just had to do something like this

Next, I want to try BZ, so if you played that already, please tell me a few light advices for the very beginning of the game, I would appreciate that

Fight a reaper with a prawn suits bare arms on survival mode, you can use commands to give you the prawn and repair tool. Don't use commands to get batteries tho! I did this my self, beat a reaper.
