Constantly draw, but also try and draw different things, and try various styles, and do not be afraid of tutorials, and also REFERENCES
Understanding colour theory and the colour wheel is a good idea too
Understanding how contrast can compliment, which colours are warm and cold, (For example blue and purple are really good for shadows, and yellow for light, but you don't HAVE to)

-Autodesk Sketchbook
-Medibang
-Ibis X Paint
There's a lot of good software on desktop and PC too:
-Krita
-Firealpaca
I believe Krita and Autodesk are available on desktop/PC as well.
I'd start off with a free app or simple pen and paper, just to get a feel for it and to make sure art is your thing before you start investing in pricier software.

Jaw: Has a needle that when attached to player sticks into arm and starts increasing the players temp
Extra stuff:Lives in deep lily pads, Same hight as player, travels in groups of 2-4
Lore: as a baby it lives near the arctic lava zone (not a real biome) then as an adult migrated to the deep lily pads holding lava inside a capsule inside its jaw,
Attacks: 1.When player comes near manifest sworms to the players arm and sticks on, then starts raising the players temperature, if not dealt with in 25 seconds the player will burn to death with no way of stoping it because lava had entered their blood stream
Attack 2. When player attacks one manifest muiltiple shoot lava balls at player

@mint pumice my only recommendation is to keep in mind that most combine soldier designs do not focus on too much metal, there’s a lot of vest padding and other things and gear, so I recommend keeping metal armor parts to a minimum. That’s all I can recommend though
When it comes to alien soldiers as seen in concept art there’s a lot more usage of metal armoring
But the mentalish armoring we see is often smoothened, kind of a mix between organic and metal because it doesn’t reflect too well that it’s made of metal, example strider and hunter shells.

If you're playing in like 90° field of view, everything's a lot smaller than when you're playing in say, 50°. The thing is, on a monitor that only takes up about ⅓ of your actual FOV, having 90° FOV on monitor makes stuff look a lot smaller, since it's cramming 90° worth of info into about 50° worth of space in your actual eyws

People always say thin your paints but I think that’s easier said then done
Getting the right amount of water so it doesn’t become a wash is tricky while trying to get it to have that nice finish

Either I have not achieved the “thin paints” or I have and my expectation of thinned paints is too high
Because I’ve been working on this 3 days and I’m still not done fully covering that blue plastic with white
Something that I would have been able to finish in a few hours if I hadn’t mixed water with acrylic to try and thin my paints

you're supposed to thin the paints so they don't streak. And then you do multiple coats. Also, it helps to have high-quality acrylics as they have more pigment

I honesty don’t know what thinned paints look like, I can only imagine it’s the right balance between paint and water where when you brush it it just leaves a perfect paint mark with no brush indents or visible strokes

A few cases I’ve had minimal of those streaks. Very minimal but on the edges of the brush strokes.

okay, here's the thing: there's acrylic painting and covering something in acrylic paint
when painting an art thing streaks are actually a desired thing, give the painting texture
you know, you can also try using a small sponge instead of a brush

it's usually a good idea to do a test run on something cheap and discardable to get a feel for the materials than immediately going for the main project
