only thinkg that could be an "issue" of proportions would be the glove thing but even then it is supposed to look like this

not that warframe is a pinnacle of correct proportions cause some frames have massive attachments that would made you topple to the side irl

yeah, practice is great an all in art, but IMHO the bigger part comes from using references and understanding how to do what you want to do

for example, you can take that ref you sent and break it down to understand why it looks like a bonsai and use it to make more accurate arts next time

oh ok, well make sure you unwrap the whole thing, you can make a grid texture and map it to the model to see how well the UVs are

i also suggest making your diffuse texture 4k or at least 2k, so you have a high quality one if you need it, also i really suggest duplicating that model, on the duped one go into sculpt mode and paint on details, then bake the normals and stuff

do what you want to model, push yourself to the limits right from the start

well, its down to you, but starting small has never done good for me
