@craggy echo Sculpting advice 1) ANATOMY, you dont even need to learn the skeleton of every creature or thing you're trying to model, but a basic understanding of where the muscles of the thing/creature are connected and what they're used for is extremely useful for modeling as this will add realism to the model. 2) Lower Polycount, you're working with high polygon count for barely detailed models, which is unnecessary and can actually make it harder to model a creature as there are way more polys to control, do as much as you can from a basic low poly, subdivide a level, sharpen, clear out and add detail then subdivide again until your model reaches the desired look, don't go overboard tho, at 1 - 5 mil your high polygon model should be 95- 100% complete, ofc this varies to the object being modeled but simple generalization from what ive seen you post. 3) Don't add the small details like teeth fingernails or teeth before the previous talked about larger details such as muscles, large scales, visible bone(example would be knee & elbow).

Finish your models, finishing is the most important thing you can do, you can always start over from scratch make something that some what resembles what you wanted but leave it looking like a gummy bear, the shapes is there but 0 detail. Finishing can mean different stages for different people. If you just want to sculpt as in you just want to make really good looking model and consider it done, then finishing means you reach a highpoly model, that resembles what you had in mind or the reference picture. If you want to put your models into a game then finishing means, after the high poly, you create a low poly count from your high poly (called retopology), unwrap it, then you texture it. If you just want to sculpt and texture then there is the option to use vertex paint tool which paints directly onto the high poly. There you go, that's pretty much the entire process for sculpting for 3 different purposes. Keep in mind it takes a beginner months to make a proper model, a senior would take couple of weeks about 2 - 4 for the typical average game (highpoly, lowpoly,unwrapping,texturing). Also finally you can do most of this in one software but there are dedicated software for a specific task that they excel at and and simply save you a lot of time. Example: Zbrush excels at sculpting, Substance Painter excels at game model texturing up to 4k, Maya for animation, topogun for retopology, ofc it depends on you.

oh and start small really small like a hamster, a rabbit, a cat. this helps because you will get discouraged you will hate your models you will want to abandon and quit, you just gotta finish like batman said "save one".

(To be honest, it depends on how you want to animate. If you're going for something like anime you'll want frame by frame animation, which is what firealpaca supports. But if you want something like simple animated discord icons or... impure animations... you'll usually want tweening or image manipulation like live2d)

iirc that line of thinking has to do with like, how the artist is frustrated with how their work isn't exactly how they thought it would be, and they see all the little nitpicks and what could be better if they had more time/skill patience, etc.
But the viewer of the art doesn't know or see it from that perspective and they enjoy the art for what it is, because they don't know what the artist intended for it to be and are seeing/enjoying it from their own perspective.

That...is a very bright green...I would use bright but not too bright if I were you because as a viewer and an artist...you cannot look at it for prolonged period of time due to brightness...In other words, it is hard to take in the details

If I remember I'll explain in more detail later if I can
but I'm in an art server for a Terraria mod (Calamity if you're curious) and someone there tends to make crystals more than anything else
so I attempted to copy things I remembered from them and others and put it into those until I was pleased with them and then added the glow with a large glow brush and lowered the opacity
