If you're unable to afford more than about $30 for ClipStudio Pro when it goes on sale ((which is a LOT)) there are free programs like GIMP, Krita, and one more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
I personally use Paint Tool SAI, and have been for about 12 years now haha.

I used a polygonal background of mine and slapped a carpeted texture over it and then the golden compass was a lot of messing around with making squares/diamonds and it just stuck lol

@cerulean sable basically a warhammer 40k planet. It got nuked to a scorched surface and the soldiers name is death korps of kreig while the planet name was kreig ( before the citizens revolted ) has its now death world of kreig since the unliveable surface.
