i started off with Fire Alpaca to learn how to draw things- I'd recommend starting there first. it's a matter of what you want to do and how much time you're willing to put into it i guess

um- i'm not sure, i've never used photoshop. Fire Alpaca is just straight-forwards i guess

krita, krita features animation, and numerous brushes, the interface however is terrible and needs some reworking, sketchbook, good if you like overlays instead of window section based programs like krita and medibang, medibang is firealpaca but it is the original firealpaca, it is a branch of it.

Hello! I thought i'd give designing a character a try, and sketched out a quite sloppy and bad version of what I cam up with. I would love some feedback on the character as well as just your thoughts! :)

Name: Gazer
Size: Undecided, possibly multiple sizes
Hostility: Defensive
Description: This would be a Jellyfish like creature, although instead of long hanging stingers, the Gazer has long tenticle-like arms coming out of the bottom of it, on which eyes are attached to the end, and a larger stationary eye at the top of its body. In addition to this, the Gazer would have holes or pores running down the side, that if it were to see the player through any of its eyes, it would fire a spine, almost like the Tiger Plant's defense system.
Sound: The Gazer would make a very soft, yet high pitched chirping sound, that could be heard only from close-ish range, kind of like the Crab Snake's range.
Uses: The Gazer could be scanned for possibly better optic-ware that the player could craft, or the player could cut off one of its protruding eyes using their knife, which could be an ingredient or a database entry.
