I gave myself that terrain manipulating tool once while I was messing in creative and started extending the terrain upwards and out of the water and started building on it the next time I logged in the terrain disappeared but the base stayed it looked like a floating base XD

What would be a nice near endgame content is the ability to have elevators in our bases

besides the trick of having 2 hallways, a vertical connector and a ladder connecting them

Hehe you guys build huge bases I just build a storage room, farm (outside), scanner room, and moonpool

I mean, in actual playthroughs i have like 2 bases, one which is multipurpose room, corridor, scanner room and moonpool in the shallows and the other is just a multipurpose room with a hatch in the lava zone

If you’re going to be building a deep sea base, Here are some tips:
-Bring Creepvine Seeds, Acid Mushrooms and blood oil.
-Bring Marble Melon (or any other edible flora)
-Create a Bioreactor, solar power is non existent
-Make a Power Cell/Battery Charger

you can also use a thermal plant if it's warm

I mean that Bioreactors are a Cheap and pretty fast way to get power

That is why I suggest making a farm

You can also name the base and the control room creates a waypoint to your base

The Jellyshroom caves have always been the prettiest looking biome in my opinion. I wouldn't want to build a base there myself because of a lack of space and inaccessibility for the cyclops.
