one tip I can give you is, unless the lighting itself is pure while light, don't shade with straight on black and white colors

if you want to add mroe to the background to make it less plain, add some foliage, but keep it blurred. the further something is away from an images focal point, it'll be less clear iand less saturated colorwise

@trim wigeon deviantart has stock photo / anatomy resources, aside from that i'd suggest googling what you want and / or using 3d modeling software to create and pose your own "reference dolls". i used to use daz3d years ago, not sure how good it is now. i recommend watching videos of people in action too, knowing where joints hinge and muscles pull / loosen will help. and don't be afraid to trace over photos, either!! i struggle with hands and feet and tracing over photos helps me commit the basic structural shapes to muscle memory, so i'm not floundering around the next time i go into a new piece. if you're drawing digitally, always remember to mirror or flip your canvas, too. it's a timesaver for finding mistakes you wouldn't be able to see from a certain angle. i hope this helps!!

Tip for recording notebook sketches: take the pic head on with white(fluorescent, full spectrum) lighting or digitally scan for most detail. Some lighter pencils and pens tend to become invisible/too shiny under strong light or shadows
