Given that you didn't previously have any idea how to do the feathers, that's impressive. The UV seams look better, too.

I would curve the planes you mapped the feathers on to, a little, so they don't disappear when viewed edge-on like in the top pic.

Blender is free. But "easy to use" and "3D modeling program" aren't really compatible ideas. You just have to keep practicing.

If I remember right, Cinema4D is more useful in film and in visualisation, whereas Blender is more of a generalist program.

If you want to learn modelling for games, Blender is a good place to start because it's free, but at some point it would be a good idea to get familiar with either 3DS Max or Maya.

the only free 3D modeling program I've played around with is Sculptris, and that's more like sculpting a model with clay rather than vectors and planes

This is the kind of art I make, it's a pain in the @ss and costed me $30. I build this almost to scale with the player and made sure I got almost every part right, the back portion still needs fixing though, has an interior which little Lego men can fit into. And 2 PDAs

At least 9 hours of building in LDD(official Lego software for free) and then buying the parts and perfecting took a while, in all $30 dollars and about 250 bricks, it was a lot for a small Seamoth.

LDD, free software provided by Lego. I built it in the normal mode(outdated by 5 years) I don't use extended mode because the colors you choose might not exist in real life.

I build the blueprints from paper starting on the wings, but then it got more complicated and I went through a few changes, after making both wings I build the body

The PRAWN Suit will be easy, since unlike the Seamoth there are more compatible parts available, compatible as in parts that could easily resemble certain curves and shapes on the PRAWN Suit, the PRAWN Suit is also smaller.

So. What it does is it acts as a medkit and a bed, sedates the player while healing him. When you use it, your screen goes black, and abou 10 seconds later you will hear it inform you the healing process was completed. It releases a fluorescent blue gas which apparently heals the player as he is sedated by injections for a certain time period. If there is a loss of power the sedatives won't be transferred into the player anymore, waking him up In a matter of seconds.
