I come from WoW retail as well as a bunch of other games. What's the reasoning for timegating such important upgrades behind missions and playtime? I was an avid battlerite player and I understand the qualms of player retention, having a reason to log in, etc. but the armory grind is boring and borderline malicious. I'm sure it's been talked to hell over the course of this season launch, but gating power behind time with a ranked system is just deplorable.
Simple solutions
- Just simply allow us to spend lootbox currency on upgrading items.
- Create new currency to allow failsafing items that are deemed "highly necessary"
- Allow fully upgraded items to be given in weekly vaults
The game has other issues. I can tell you that your UX issue isn't coming from balance. A casual player seeing that they will never obtain a 3 star item is the issue.
