are there any player numbers for china?
xDDDDDD
nvm wrong info
there was never a version where legends could queue together in trios ranked
i mean, there was
in november 2024
OB
for 1-2 weeks
important part from my message is "trios"
my bad then. Thought I remembered it being possible?
crazy
this is from the trios patch notes
TC HOW DARE YOU
gotcha thanks
Easy answer to this question, they care about China market but not western market. Easy answer
I think there was a million signups for Chinese Beta
And the viewership numbers on Chinese websites are better than western counterparts
So it wouldn’t surprise me if they’re holding on over there with more people / more stable population slope
RANKED soloQ ONLY
this is selflove
that would be lovely
soloQ shows who has real skills
My guess would be dramatically larger player base which fixes a lot of the issues encountered in the western version of the game.
I've said for a while now that things are likely to skew more in favor of the Asia regions simply due to that being where they are finding the most support for the game currently. Until things pick up in the western market I don't think there are likely to be any changes to ranked premade matchmaking.
Can we have numbers of players to know how well the game is doing in china/asia region ?
i would agree if everyone have to queue solo, because on the curent state its a solo legend against 3 legends on smurf
or ppl playing duo / trio
soloQ forces the person to learn how to play in team, the current state is if you are soloQ and drop on 2 friends lower elo on your team the tendency is these two push the play in ways the game ends on the begining
either you carry the game or lose
soloq in this game is a joke
I only play soloQ
no friends
but after you hit masters is pain, cuz then you only get ppl who knows the game and play at least duos
No, it's pain because you get insects of teammates that won't do anything all game and it's tilting
Isnt the problem with soloq that you can be gold + legend on the same team? Lol
That's the main ossue with solo que yes. But there is also the issue how it is just a lot lot more fun to play with friends due to how this game is designed.
It will always cause some sort of smurfing issue. And most higher elo people did leave specifically due to restrictions so they're also causing that issue
Yeah
Stacking in high elo always worries me because you cant always find higher mmr players to balance your stack
If you 3 stack in gold and get thrown into a dia avg game, thats fine
U are 3 stack, your mmr should go up
But 3 stack in legend and then what? Majority of the lobby is gonna be weaker than you anyway unless queue times are HUGE
High elo stacking just generally creates balancing issues id imagine
It probably would. They just like aren't keeping high elo players rn. Which is an issue.
There have been a few suggestions to try and help the issue without just fully removing restrictions which would probably work just as well
Kinda crazy to see this in conjunction with having full access to armory without the forge gatcha lol. Why isn't this implemented in the western version??
Wait... they have no gotcha?
Correct, no gatcha 😔 they're missing out
They're still using the old system from beta https://www.reddit.com/r/supervive/s/Zf6NY6nHal
Idk how it was in beta, but ik in alpha you would collect the same item to increase the star
Tbh i wish that was still in the game
Would be a good way to mitigate the armory stuff that ppl dislike
I think in beta pve mobs would drop shards that go towards leveling up items and picking up a duplicate increases it further
I disliked shops being added in but that's just my opinion.
I feel like it's good to have info available outside of the matches and i can understand not wanting to overwhelm players with too much info all at once but like... league gives an optimal build while allowing players to have access to the full inventory of items. Why not do the same here? Is this the bandaid solution for a lack of content to keep players engaged? If so, it's a poor idea.
I cant even get my friends to keep playing the game since there's a lot to learn to reach the floor. Only the highly competitive and motivated ones stay long enough to learn the mechanics of supervive. If the player count is why there is a ranked restriction, then something needs to be done to retain new players of all skill levels
iirc in alpha there was also a "glossary" tab that would give you ALL of the info
every status effect, jg mobs, when things would spawn, what armories were, etc
now you're just thrown to the wolves and left to pray
not that i ever read the glossary, btw
i was too lazy
BUT i think its nice to have
for example, in dota, if i ever didnt know how something worked i would either look it up or use the in-game glossary
i think its nice to have in-game ways to get info
i know everyone can look things up, but you shouldnt have to
I agree with you!
I wish hovering over keywords would give me a more in-depth explaination, but that's not yet a thing in supervive. It's a small qol thing that I rly appreciate in games.
My guess is NetEase prob said smthn abt players not liking the new systems since they are the ones producing in china
dont a lot of other non-NA countries have laws against gamba? maybe thats part of it
No idea what cn laws are exactly but from what I’ve seen you just have to disclose rates over there
Cuz thats how gacha games do it
And they even allow you to pay for rolls compared to strictly earned
So the only thing I can think of is either NetEase didnt like it themselves or players didnt
If they are just scared of lootbox laws though I wish NA could get some laws so they would be scared of it over here too xD
My queue times have been so bad that I cant even use the armory I worked for so I just quit
honestly im not against lootboxes as a concept so idk
i dont think armory is bad bc its lootbox, i only think its bad because it locks people out of having "full" access to the game at the start
creating an uneven competitive playing field
but the lootbox nature of it doesnt really matter to me
in fact, id go as far to say that im an advocate for lootboxes in some contexts
Im an advocate for lootboxes in the big games that lets you earn cosmetics for free by playing like league hextech chests
But I dont think tc should do that cuz they obv need to make money
And it feels like they just wanted a loot crate and it didnt make sense
Idk if there was a better way to implement ‘core mechanic locked behind lootbox’, cuz when I type it out like that it just sounds scummy
core mechanic locked behind lootbox is definitely rough
im always down for cosmetics behind lootboxes though, but your game needs a LOT of cosmetics for that to be worthwhile
like what league does
my favorite part of supervive is no matter what the discussion is about it always turns into armory bad
This community is great ain't it 🙂
honestly though...
i dont mind the armory that much xd
it definitely gave me a reason to keep playing
and then by the time i got most of the armory, i become good enough at the game to keep playing
although, i hit diamond and then kinda stopped playing again lol
i got diamond with 30% armory completion 🙂
i just dont think the armory should be as invasive as it is
i really think the old system of picking up shards/items to level up that item would be good here
then, even if you have 1* of any item, you just keep spamming the same item and all is good
ey, to each their own
i got more than 30% armory completion just leveling up to 20 lol
then i hit dia with 80 games and roughly 100 hours
thats good enough to me
fair play
everyone on earth agrees
