Proposed Arena Changes
- Remove Red Chest
- Remove Respawn Beacons
- Add small creeps
- Add a mini boss
- Add a smaller version of the "Heart"
- Shield starts as Green and evolves to Blue after capturing the camp
- Green/Blue/Purple powers can be bought from the shop
- Add 30 seconds to every round
Powers
Red powers often break the game.
For example, when a team with Myth/Shiv/Ghost gets an Armor Shredder, or a team with Void/Oath/KP gets a Blink Stone, the balance is completely thrown off.
To improve balance, some powers should be removed and many new ones should be added.
Powers that should be removed or never appear in the Arena:
- All Red powers (except Frog Jump)
- All Gold powers (except Wisp Vacuum and Abyssal Fang)
- Raven
- All costume powers
- Touch powers (except Touch of Life)
Creeps and Shop
The shop now sells powers for:
- Green: 700 gold
- Blue: 800 gold
- Purple: 1000 gold
These powers are permanent once bought, but players can still hold only one at a time.
Gold and Red powers cannot be purchased and are losable.
Killing creeps grants 250 gold to each nearby player.
This means your team can earn and spend 1000 gold every round—except the first.
Mini Boss, Heart, and Camp
Each arena map currently has 3 camp spawn points.
The spawn point location will still be random, but the unused points will now have new objectives:
Mini Boss
- Can drop a Red Power, Gold Power, or 4 equipment fragments
- Equipment fragments can be used to upgrade gear
- Be careful—any drop can be stolen
Heart
- Enables uninterruptible revives
- Replaces current Respawn Beacons, which make reviving nearly impossible
- Adds more strategic play around revives
I believe these changes would lead to more strategic playes, better power usage, and more fair matches.
