I'm kinda beating a dead horse at this point, but as soon as I hit GM/Legend, it's so unbelievably unfun to play. Unless I get incredibly lucky, and get a teammate of similar caliber to myself, the game isn't 'supervive' it becomes 'super-revive' as I go to revive my gold teammates over and over again, watching them get spiked on repeat in situations where anyone with hands wouldn't get spiked. Hitting GM/Legend becomes 'let me throw a few games to go back to masters to duo with a friend because its fun'. The game is infinite coinflip in ranked, its very unfun to me

Even in diamond, it’s very rough with randoms. Some teams are premades who have months of grinding and others are random people slapped together with no cooperation… OR a combination of the two with two friends and a random and neither party works with eachother. It comes with the territory but it’s still unfortunate
If they remove restrictions the game would become way more fun for some people to play, while in turn making the game way less fun for other people.
Which sure it sucks I can't play with my friends, but I'd rather I still enjoy the game somewhat solo than feel forced to wait for my friends to be on.
Also ranked being a coinflip I feel is more of a playerbase issue, cus there just isn't too many people in higher ranks or who are actually good.
Like once every 20 games I get a game that is full of people on my skill and it's the funnest shit ever, i hope at some point that is almost every game.
There is a wide skill gap and it’s especially rough right now that a lot of the best players are back to the grind so it’s very coinflippy with who you get or who you are against
Unfortunately at high elo we need to suck it up until the playerbase gets bigger. Removing these restrictions would make the game more fun for us while destroying it for lower elo's entirely.
Also an issue with this is because the player base hasn’t had
- a truly competitive mode
- Full knowledge of the game (not just because of the constant changes BUT also a wimpy tutorial
People have not been able to get on a competitive level because they haven’t been given the knowledge they need and been challenged in a way that makes them grow
The only real issue is the player count forcing low elo players with high elo players
With more people the ranks will sort themselves out properly
tru - that's the camp that I'm in. We suck it up for now and it will feel better in the long run
obviously no one is asking anyone to play something they find unfun, I'm just wanting to give some context as to why I think the change is good overall and that between the two demographics, it makes more sense to make the game feel worse for us for the greater good of player population
