I don't understand why there is a set window for a game to be played when people work daily. I have heard and seen a lot about this game, I have my own thoughts on it as well. Its upsetting that being someone who felt let down seeing game play but had faith that being able to play it and learn it myself would be a fun experience. On the flipside I get its a alpha and just unfortunate for people like me who work till midnight or 1 am. I love the devs and have a lot of faith in the game but am skeptical about how it feels to play I was very much looking forward to the experience, sadly my first one for this game will be not being able to play it tho. 🥲

Hey, there

The reasoning behind the playtest windows is because the game is currently in pre alpha (this means very very early on WIP) it's not even a alpha yet.

Running servers is really expensive both financially and on developer time and resources.
With how early on the game is right now the devs want to make sure they are able to monitor the game the whole time, in case things break.

The game just isn't ready to be ran 24 hours a day.
It's already highly unusual for the devs to be hosting semi-public playtests this often this early in development.

The purpose of these playtests if for the dev team to gather feedback on what works and doesn't work for the game from outsiders.
The purpose of the this playtest is not to allow everyone to play

Though I very much understand and sympathize with being disappointed at not being able to play because of work schedules.
This is unfortunately the reality of the situation.

It just won't be cost (money and resources) effective for the devs to run longer playtest.

You also said you were sceptical whether the game would be fun to play.
I can confidently tell you that I find it verry fun to play despite it obviously being unfinished.
And that is a sentiment shared by many of the players. many players are verry very excited to play again come playtest week (you can even somewhat see this it in the public channels, but more so in the private play tester channels). Even the disappointment you feel at not being able to play is saying something about the game.

I hope I explained everything clearly. Even though it likely won't eliviate the dissapointment.
Once the game is further on in development (probably sometime during Beta), I could see the devs runing longer/more playtests.
