#(solved) Turbo plan not allowing overage or free use

Based on the information in the knowledge sources, here’s what should happen on the Turbo plan:
- When you run out of your included AI credits, Warp should automatically switch you to the Lite model, which offers unlimited usage at no additional cost for Turbo (or higher) subscribers. This allows you to continue using AI features, though with a more basic model. If you have overages enabled, you should also be able to continue using premium models, with additional usage billed at $0.04 per credit, up to your set spending cap. You can manage these settings in
Settings > Billing and usageWhat is Lite?, Overages.
However, there are some known issues and confusing behaviors:
- If overages are enabled, Warp will charge for premium model usage beyond your included credits, but you must not have hit your overage spending cap. If you have not used any overage and are still blocked, this may be a bug or a sync issue with billing Overages, Github Issue #6767.
- There have been reports that, in some cases, explicitly choosing the Lite model does not bypass the overage check. If overages are enabled, you may be required to use up your premium requests and overage allowance before you can use Lite for free. As a workaround, disabling overages in your settings should allow you to use Lite without incurring overage charges Github Issue #6867.
What you can try:
- Double-check your overage settings and spending cap in
Settings > Billing and usage. - If overages are enabled and you’re still blocked, try disabling overages—this should force Warp to allow unlimited Lite usage.
- If the issue persists, it may be a bug or a billing sync problem. In such cases, contacting Warp support directly is recommended, as they can resolve account-specific issues that cannot be fixed from the user side Github Issue #6767.
If you continue to be blocked from both overages and Lite usage despite following these steps, the knowledge sources suggest this is not the intended behavior and should be reported to Warp support for resolution.

Over time, the Lite model—originally designed as a fallback when premium models ran out—began to deliver inconsistent results, especially for users running complex, multi-step prompts.
For credit-efficient usage, we encourage you to try our new Auto (cost-efficiency) model, which automatically selects the optimal model based on task complexity to help extend your credits.
To make the transition smoother, we've added 500 bonus credits to your account for this billing cycle.
