Hi @ivory oyster. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

#

In Warp, AI requests are counted each time you submit a prompt to the AI—whether that's generating code, suggesting a command, or performing a task. This means that simply asking a question or interacting with the AI (such as using Agent Mode or AI Command Suggestions) will consume AI requests, even if you don't execute a command or edit your codebase as a result.

The number of requests used can vary depending on the complexity of your prompt, the model used, and other factors, but there is no indication in the knowledge sources that you are only charged (in terms of AI request quota) when you actually execute a command or make an edit. Each interaction with the AI counts toward your monthly request limit, regardless of whether you take further action on the suggestion or not. You can track your AI request usage in the app under Settings > Billing and usage. For more details, see the documentation on AI Requests and what counts as an AI request.

So, to summarize: you are charged (in terms of AI request quota) for each AI interaction, not just when you execute a command or edit your codebase as a result of the AI's suggestion.

Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
