#Feature: show web fetch tool use

Hi @alpine pilot. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.
Currently, when you provide a public URL in a prompt, Warp's agent will fetch the content of that specific page and use it as context for its response. However, this is not a general web search or browsing feature—the agent only uses the content of the exact page you link, and only if it is publicly accessible. The agent does not have real-time browsing capabilities or access to dynamic content (e.g., JavaScript-rendered pages) Referencing websites via URLs.
Regarding your request to see a clear indication or tool call (similar to how MCP tool calls are shown), the knowledge sources do not mention any explicit UI or log feedback that shows when the agent fetches a web page as context. There is no documentation indicating that Warp currently displays a tool call or notification when the agent performs a web fetch, unlike the visible tool calls for MCP servers.
If you would like this feature, it would be a good idea to submit it as a feature request to the Warp team, as it would improve transparency and user experience when using web content in prompts.
Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
