#Suggestions upon start up

Hi @daring tide. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.
Yes, you can disable the startup suggestions in Warp. Based on the knowledge sources, there are a few different types of startup suggestions that can be disabled:
-
For the AI prompt suggestions that appear when opening a new terminal tab, you can disable them by going to
Settings > Features > Generaland toggling off theRecommend AI prompts on new taboption as mentioned by a Warp team member. -
If you're seeing a welcome message or banner that takes up screen space, some users have reported that it eventually goes away after using Warp for a while. As a temporary workaround, you can use the
clearcommand to clear the terminal as suggested in this GitHub issue. -
For AI-related features in general, Warp has added a global AI opt-out setting that disables all AI features and removes all AI-related entry points from the UI. You can find this in the Settings menu as announced in this GitHub issue.
-
If you're specifically seeing input hint text (like "Try typing natural language instead of a command"), you can disable this under
Settings > Feature > Editor > show input hint textas mentioned by a support staff member.
The specific setting you need might depend on which type of suggestions you're seeing at startup, but these options should help you get a cleaner terminal interface.
Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:
