Are we able to use our own ChatGPT account/login or Gemini account/login with Warp or do we need to pay the monthly membership to be able to do that? I'd hate to pay twice for the same AI considering I wouldn't use AI just in Warp. It would be nice to use my same subscription I already have with OpenAI

Hi @vast thorn. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Based on the knowledge sources provided, Warp currently does not offer the option to use your own ChatGPT account, Gemini account, or OpenAI API key with their AI features. Here's what we know:

  1. Warp AI is built on OpenAI's technology, but it doesn't allow users to connect their personal OpenAI accounts or API keys at this time.

  2. There is significant user interest in this feature, as evidenced by an open GitHub issue requesting the ability to use personal API keys: Option to add own LLM (OpenAI , Anthropic, etc.) API key

  3. The Warp team is aware of this request and is considering it for future updates, but there's no definitive timeline for implementation.

  4. Currently, Warp offers a free tier with limited AI requests (100 per day according to recent information) and paid plans for more extensive AI usage.

  5. For enterprise customers, there is a "Bring your own LLM" option available, but this is not offered for individual users.

  6. The Warp team has mentioned that they're working on the feature, but need to address complexities such as how it would work with different AI models they offer (e.g., OpenAI vs Claude).

In summary, as of now, you cannot use your existing ChatGPT or Gemini accounts with Warp. To access more AI features beyond the free tier, you would need to subscribe to Warp's paid plans. The ability to use your own API key or AI account is a frequently requested feature, but it's not currently available for individual users.
