Hi All,

Today has been frustrating with this problem.

I have written a new notebook today and it gets to a point where it just hangs and will not allow any further editing.
Terminate via force quit and re open presents the same workbook, and same issue if I try and edit straight away.
Also tried closing the notebook and other terminals etc and reopening, but same issue.

I also tried duplicating the notebook, closing it and opening the duplicate first all good. then open original and all good for about two minutes then freezing and macbook fans going mental.

Anyone else experience this kind of behaviour?

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with Warp on MacOS. Based on the knowledge sources provided, there have been similar issues reported where Warp crashes during certain operations. For example, one user reported a crash when editing a workflow in the Drive panel, and another reported a crash when cutting or deleting Japanese characters in a notebook.

However, the specific issue you're experiencing with notebooks hanging and causing high CPU usage hasn't been directly reported in the provided sources. It would be helpful to gather more information about your system and the specific steps that lead to the issue.

Here are a few things you could try:

  1. Check if you're running the latest version of Warp. Some of the reported issues were resolved in later versions.
  2. Try to isolate the issue. Does it happen with all notebooks or just this specific one? Does it happen with all types of content or just certain types (e.g., specific characters or commands)?
  3. Report the issue on the Warp GitHub page (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues) with as much detail as possible. The Warp team actively monitors this page and responds to issues.

I hope this helps, and I'm sorry I couldn't provide a more specific solution based on the provided sources.

Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon:

@civic sluice thanks for letting us know. if possible can you provide a video of this issue? Are you working with a large notebook by any chance? Do the duplicates behave in the same way and hang?
