#Duplicate in Dock after update

I've noticed that on my Mac after an update to Warp is installed I have two copies in my Dock: the copy that is permanently there, and a copy in the "recent apps" section. These are the same app, if I quit one it quits the other. Why is this? Is it a side-effect of how the updater works? Of App Translocation? I'm not too bothered by this, but more curious as it is unique to Warp in my experience.

Yes, you're correct. This is a known issue with Warp on MacOS. When Warp is updated, it creates a new icon in the dock instead of using the existing one. This issue has been reported by multiple users and it seems to be specific to Warp, not occurring with other terminal applications.

To work around this issue, you need to remove the old Warp icon from the dock and then select "Keep in Dock" for the new icon. While this is not a major issue, it can be a minor inconvenience as you have to do this after every update.

The Warp team is aware of this issue, as it has been reported in multiple GitHub issues (#4175 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/4175), #1535 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/1535), #3504 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/3504), #2911 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/2911), #1617 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/1617), #3893 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/3893), #3696 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/3696), #2045 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/2045), #2030 (https://github.com/warpdotdev/Warp/issues/2030)). However, it's unclear when a fix will be available.
