at the same time here's hoping CK modding will advance enough for these to be implemented as new sets. Do you have any ideas what their stats would be?

As for now I just use them for personal gameplay.
People seemed to be pretty skeptical on user-created armor added to CK, so I didn't wanna overthink about them.

Same here. Core Keeper was the first game that ever made me do pixel arts. I learned the artstyle, contrast and scales by checking vanilla sprites.
