I also want to cover some of the more technical things from this video, AW will usually reset itself if you travel too far into the shimmering frontier. What I found is that if you kill the host body (I.E. the one the scanner icon shows on the map) the other body will become the main body and will let itself travel farther than normal, chain that together and you can have AW tear through the Passage. Only up from here

(Note that this method has been slightly inconsistent, the new main body will occasionally follow the same distance rule as the previous)*

*after further testing you need to ensure the new main body is past the original turn around point, I set up lights with the roofing gadget to make visible lines for each point

Another bonus finding, AW will destroy ore boulders, safe to say I no longer need pandorium

Yeah, I lure AW to ore boulders for that purpose 😛 Unlike Ghorm, who just devours them :[

Very cool finds!

Can’t wait for the emergency patch that kills this technique lolSnugglygradeRave

AW will no longer leave the sunken sea regardless of segment actuve

what are you wearing that makes you so tanky?

what's the ring

rustic venture

Ruby ring and double ring

fallen sinew

Noble Ring, looks like. Both of those can be fished from the desert in normal water

That is some really impressive tankiness though, looking forward to trying out that setup!

Whole goal was big range and melee damage and being tanky, safe to say I think I nailed it

Whats your armor (the purple)

fallen sinew

Ninja armor, both can be obtained by fishing in shimmering water, and I believe the nillipedes can drop all of the armor (fishing is faster imo, but still takes a while, even with 2 maxed out goldfish rings)

Keeping this here

Is it all that unbreakable wall material?

rustic venture

Yep

But no clue if the wall becomes void at some point

And now we wait, basically stacked as much stuff as I could in here and we’ll see how the update handles it lol

So this will be the last message I send in this forum in regards to the AW tech directly, I’ll still be answering any questions people may have, but here is the full breakdown of how AW works

When summoned AW sets a fight radius around the center of the bait pillar, usually extending roughly 150 blocks, the part on the body that stores this information is the head of the worm.

When the worm splits, the new worm sets a new fight radius on the block the head spawns, this DOES NOT affect the original worm, what this means is the new second worm has a different distance it can travel than the original.

important note here that the worm that the scanner tracks is considered the main worm, which means if you leave it’s fight radius the fight will end once it gets far enough away. In order to counter this you must split and kill only the head segment, which will transfer the main body logic to the second worm you created.
So if you want to for example case of this post drag the worm through the passage this is your step list.

  1. Travel to the edge of the fight radius
  2. Split the worm as close to the head as you can
  3. Kill the head of the worm tracked by the scanner
  4. Repeat

To get it far is very luck based to get good segment splits close to the head, to reach the distance I got in the screenshots above took about 50~ attempts (which with the summon being 2000 coins yes it was very expensive) I recommend using one or two summons to practice the tech and learn how it works before attempting anything major

I want to thank my girlfriend for listening to my insane ramblings about “worm tech” and wish ya’ll a happy digging

Oh and core keeper devs, thanks for making an amazing silly little game, truly some of the most fun I’ve had gaming in years now
