I'm gonna try to keep this short. I just finished a full playthrough of playing as a pure summoner. Pure summoner, as per my ruleset I used for my playthrough, basically just means I only used summons throughout the entire time I played and as best as I could avoided using other damage sources from any other combat class. Having finished every boss now my thoughts on the progression bosses is as follows:

Definitely a fun playthrough.

Without pet dmg it would be awful.

It's surprisingly not too bad without pet damage. I only used a fanhare to level it so I had it in case but never found a need for it. Definitely helped with poison though while I was using it.

I used a 5x speed owlux for most of the playthrough otherwise.

I really don't like that summoned minions aren't naturally aggressive towards aggressive enemies. Everything has to take a swing at you first before they jump into action and maaaaaan I absolutely can't frigging stand that
