#

yes one sec

#

Open File Explorer and type %appdata% in the top like so, then press enter to go to the AppData folder. This will usually bring you to AppData/Roaming, so go up a level to just the AppData folder by clicking it at the top

#

once in AppData go to LocalLow, then find the Pugstorm folder

#

From Pugstorm go to Core Keeper > Steam > [Your Steam ID Number]

#

To restore character saves, go to the saves folder

#

These characters are stored in the order listed on the character selection screen starting with 0, so if the third character you made is the one you want to restore, you would find the third starting from 0 (0, 1, 2, etc.), and rename 2.pugbackup to 2.json

what if i have 2 before

#

and i a new one already

frail crow
#

oof that might be a little more complicated, i'm not sure if you can get the old character back if you've made a new character in the same slot already

gaunt walrus
#

mine look like this then the new one is 0.json right?

#

and the 2nd old char is 1.json.pugbackup?

frail crow
#

The first slot would be 0.json, the second would be 1.json

#

the .json is your character's actual save, the .pugbackup is the same thing but a backup

#

so if you don't have a character in slot 2 for instance but you do have 1.pugbackup without 1.json, rename 1.pugbackup to 1.json

#

leave the .enc file as is, that's an encoded backup i believe

gaunt walrus
#

oh nice i restore it

frail crow
#

sweet

#

now to restoring maps

gaunt walrus
#

what about the world

frail crow
#

pretty similar, we're going to want to target worldinfos and worlds folders, and worldgenparams

#

for all 3 of these folders you'll need to rename the files similarly where the slot for your old world will have a .pugbackup file

#

instead of renaming it to .json change it to .gzip

#

well wait

#

lemme straighten that up some

#
  • in /worlds/ rename #.world.gzip.pugbackup to #.world.gzip
  • in /worldinfos/ rename #.worldinfo.pugbackup to #.worldinfo
  • in /worldgenparams/ rename #.json.pugbackup to #.json
gaunt walrus
#

ok anyway i did that

#

its worked

#

thank you

you might have map errors but you can delete the map by going to /maps/ and deleting the folder with the character you want to reset the map for
