Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying the 0.9.9 preview 🤠
Some players have reported very low frame rates (10-15 fps or lower) in their classic worlds after upgrading to 0.9.9. We have looked at the save files we have received and found that they contain complex circuitry builds which overwhelm the electricity system. We are already working on a fix to improve the circuitry performance for these worlds. However, we cannot see any reason why these builds would not have caused similarly poor performance in previous versions of the game. This is difficult to investigate, since once you have opened a world in 0.9.9, you cannot open the same world in 0.7.5.
Therefore, we ask for you help.
Do you have a classic world that performs significantly worse in 0.9.9 than it did in 0.7.5?
If so, please submit a bug report using the form in the pinned comment, where you include both the current world file and the automated 0.7.5 backups of the same world. The current world files are found in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\<steamid>\worlds\, while the backups are found in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\<steamid>\backups\worlds\ and C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\<steamid>\backups\worlds_old\. The world save files are numbered starting at 0. That means that if the affected world is saved in slot 5 in-game, its file name will be 5.world.gzip.
Feel free to ask below if anything is unclear. I will read everything you write, but there is a lot going on at the moment so I might be a bit slow to respond.
Thank you in advance!
