Meet the Cartographer! As I’ve been putting in hours I’ve found myself wishing there was a lore friendly way to locate the various scenes that contain the necessary components for building the legendary tools among other things.

This is where the cartographer merchant comes in. By summoning him in a valid room + a cartography table, he will sell the player maps that put pins on the relevant scenes to give explorers a little more direct route to what they’re looking for.

These maps shouldn’t come cheap though so setting a correct cost will be important. As always I love to hear feedback on the art and what your thoughts are on the addition of this merchant.

i've gotten a similar idea about making a treasure map however your idea about using an npc does sound a bit more interesting than just finding a random map piece or map in general ;/

Honestly having the maps spawn in chests in addition to the merchant sounds like a great idea so that it still has that added chance of reward for exploring. My main motivation is bc I’m lazy after exploring for too long so this is a for sure way to get headed in the correct direction haha

i feel like this kinda addition will create a drive for exploration a bit more because although exploration is almost its own reward you don't really find any hints towards any of them whatsoever

Yea I find myself losing steam if I don’t come across anything or breadcrumbs to lead me to something so hopefully this NPC could help solve that

Thx! I was rlly happy with how the feather turned out after having to shrink it down to fit on the character, wasn’t sure it was going to be able to be recognized haha

It definitely takes skilled pixel art to be able to massively scale down the pixels on an object and still have it be recognizable, very good job

honestly, since you usually start looking for the special scenes after defeating the titans, it'd make sense if he was obtained around omoroth and ra-kar

Yea I feel like there are a few different ways it could be implemented. Could be straight paywall with like 5k credit cost per map (that would pin all relevant scenes for an item) or have it require a drop from one of the titans requiring you to farm them in order to purchase the maps

since the desert of begginings is filled to the brim with digging spots and treasures, i think i'd make sense if you had to dig up the thing for the NPC to move in

maybe like a .. treasure map!!!!
