I made a smelter set up for my home base. My base is at the core and I have closed off belted tracks that lead out in the main directions (N, W, S, E) that I've connected to boulders all over the world. This set up feeds in from one end and the ore and bars travel through the line to a chest at the end. With the bolder/smelters ratio balanced I never have ore in the chest, only bars.
