Played in hardcore hard mode with one life, one world, and the death of Stone ends it all.
Entry #1: Day 1. I don't know how I got here... or even where here is. It is an adventure though and that is all that matters.
I have discovered that torches are surprisingly useful and I've ditched the copper pickaxe I started with, at least for now. Maybe it will prove useful later on or maybe it was my first mistake. I shake my head, musing about such things, and continue on mining with my surprisingly resilient torch and I am content, for the moment, in its radiant glow. Now if only it killed things a little quicker.
As I grow hungrier, I am starting to wish I could eat the bugs that are running around willynilly... either that or find some food. Day one still.. I guess anyway. No way to tell time down here. I'm at half health with no food except for a few cans that say they should last for years... Somehow I think I will be hungry again before then. I refuse to eat them as I notice I seem to have stopped requiring food... Maybe they will actually last for years.
Things are looking up. I came across an abandoned camp surprisingly nearby. The former occupant of the camp was kind enough to leave a large box nearby and when I smashed the box to flinders with my trusty torch, out popped a fishing pole. An iron fishing pole... I was kinda dubious at first because iron is heavy, rusts a lot and doesn't flex at all. Pretty much all the qualities I don't want in a fishing pole... But, it turns out it's not so bad. I caught several fish with it so dinner seems sorted for now... if and when I choose to eat... raw fish is not all that tasty without at least some wasabi. Also pulled up a couple of rusty spoons and fish hooks but I have yet to see how those are "valuables". Mhm. Yup. I suppose bait would help in the future... looks at worms running around on the floor again...
Ah well, off to the first order of business... Scout out my surroundings and gather some supplies.
End of journal entry one. It will continue somewhere, somewhen, somehow.
