Please develop a Player vs Player (PvP) mode for NGS. Introducing PvP expands its replayability, social engagement, and long-term player retention. It also gives weekend players a way to stay engaged.

PSO2 base features the Battle Arena, which is still active and enjoyed by dedicated fans to this day. Just look at Saturday and Sunday at 8am US Pacific times. There's also Discord servers dedicated for PVP junkies. This demonstrates that there is strong interest in competitive mode.

NGS lacks a comparable system, leaving a gap for players seeking competitive or skill-based gameplay beyond NGS events/stories or general weekend play. Introducing PvP would not only appeal to returning players, but also attract new players who enjoy multiplayer competition.

Proposed Features
Instanced PvP Arenas: Balanced, matchmade environments separate from open-world exploration.
Multiple Modes:

  • 4v4 or 8v8
  • Objective-based modes (e.g., capture points, energy collection)
  • Free-for-all

Class Balance Adjustments:

  • PvP-specific tuning to ensure fairness across all classes.
  • Standardized gear
  • Ranked & casual queues
  • Weekend Events & Bonuses: Increased rewards, special modes, or limited-time events to boost activity during peak times.
  • Cosmetic & Reward Incentives: Unique titles, emotes, weapon camos, and seasonal rewards to encourage participation.

Conclusion
Adding PvP to PSO2 NGS would build upon a proven feature from base PSO2 and modernize it for today’s player base. With thoughtful design and incentives—especially tied to weekend activity—it could become a core pillar of the game’s ecosystem.

To be honest, if they implemented PvP in NGS, it would fail harder than Warframe's own attempt at PvP content.

The gameplay mechanics were never designed for PvP in the first place, just like how Warframe's fast paced gameplay mechanics don't mesh well with pvp.

I mean it can still work as its basically an entirely new class used in Base. However, its a matter time and resource investment into making a whole new gamemode with a whole new balancing. Maybe not today, but down the line it could

Play like strike instead, that's the real pvp, and #pheedback-chat , that's the open pk zone...
It's been mentioned pvp existed in base because for all Japanese people their internet connection was good and they are all close.
It doesn't really work that well for a global population

you also need to design a game's netcode around pvp and as most people who vaguely pay attention to a laggy player can attest, the game doesn't really care much about tight positioning for everyone (because it's not terribly important)

why i want this idea to happen? cuz im sick of moba :v line strike will have all ship matching soon iirc and they had tournaments in japan about that

Line strike has had cross ship for awhile now. Also I see people doing it in towns all the time so it's hardly dead.
