Topic: Make use of the varied and often under-used Exploration Sectors for more engaging content.

Reason: The open-world parts of the game have a lot of potential to make engaging quests using varied terrain such the numerous cliffs, caves, etc.

Why: Although the game is likely moving away from the open-zone format for its current cycle of content, I think it would be a waste to not find a way to utilize the varied locales that have been created so far for content other than LTQs and boss arena backdrops. The Exploration Sectors are rarely utilized for anything in current content outside of very small and often disjointed snippets for LTQs and brief encounters such as Duels that often relegate several portions of the map as backdrops and uninteractable set-pieces.

Additional Reasons: Content that has you explore a randomized pool of routes that tour around each region with varied enemies and objectives that span NGS's different locations would be a great way to keep the Exploration Sectors in use after all collectables such as the Red Crates have been exhausted.

Would be cool, but iirc they kinda gave up on open world developments

#

And with how recent alter realms is, I think they'll be using the open world's exploration zone being the alter realm combat sectors instead

#

Since recent one is just West Retem

no i think what they meant was like the last few LTQs, where they section off parts of the overworld and add a few extra bits and bobs to make a new quest area

#

instead of just the Default Training Room blocks everywhere

^Yeah, the summer LTQ was a new map that merely used South Aelio as a base. There's a lot they could do with that. It'd be interesting to be able to freely explore a modified location like that. If actual modified terrain like rocks and trees and water features are allowed, then keep doing that. 🙂

And you know what intergalactic corrupting force just LOVES to modify environments to gain an advantage? Starless do! I want to see more of Starless messing with the terrain as a primary strategy, and making their own boss arenas that permit unique attack for the boss, like Halvaldi Vera (who doesn't spawn regularly in the world. Only the normal variant can outside of that arena in Retem.)

Make something that can dive in and out of terrain like Renus, but that makes its own floating blocks/shapes to attack from so it can strike from many angles, not just up and down.
