14★+ and Legend 3+ Weapons should only have a locked preset of Ex III Augments for each Series.

Sorry but a fixed EX augment set for each weapon isnt fun. We have currently about 30 EX augments and you want fix 3 on each weapon? Evade Onslaught is for every weapon right now one of the top EX augments and only 1 weapon type should have it for example?
I personally give a xxx on the letters on the EX.
Every calss benefits from tri-shield. it makes a fight which you are not familier with it easier to learn and is a good combo with evade onslaught.
I would prefer that we can finally transfer single EX augments for creating our desiered combo.

if it were locked for each series and that's the only source of hypothetical EX3 it may as well be a potential, cause they'd obviously only put the good one on the rarest series

I’ma keep it short and sweet for a change
People like having options / variety; if you want some kind of locked preset- that should just be part of the weapon potential, rather than taking away player expression (i.e I enjoy endure pb, while I have many friends who enjoy turnover and many friends who enjoy maintain). The system is there to adjust / change the experience even if it’s not a massive change so taking that away just defeats the purpose

I think the weapon's potential can fill the role of a unique EX augment. They just need to make more interesting ones to make the weapons more interesting to work with, and that's something I definitely support. 🙂

I'll keep saying it, we need more ways to make unique things, not less (this is why I welcome skill rings if they're going to act as some kind of 4th EX slot), locking a combo to a specific weapon is no different than a potential, and speaking of potentials, it'd be nice if they started requiring players to think about using them instead of all the benefits happening passively. Legendios had a unique potential and Leyend is kind of underwhelming in comparison since it's just yet another free damage boost with extra steps

#

weapons are close enough to boring stat sticks already currently so god let's not vouch to make it worse 😭

In that case- ask for more creative EX augs
I think we everyone would be much more inclined to agree on that rather than taking away what little variety we have

karmic root
#

So instead you want to shot down a ton of the creativity for the entire playerbase in the name of the .1% of competitive players that don’t want to make multiple weapons to be competitive?

60% of the playerbase barely even bother building 1 weapon + 30% of the playerbase is fine with just 1 for their main class + 9% of the playerbase builds a wep for every class- the amount of people that genuinely run around with wix / unwix / blastor / different EX setups and different built weapons is so low that I feel like doing something like this is just putting a massive dent into the game for a competitive scene that doesn’t exist

#

If this was like league / ssbu / some kind of fighting game / something fully competitive then sure I’d agree but

#

The competitive side of the playerbase isn’t prominent enough for this to be a reasonable thing to do

#

Yes there’s plenty of incredible competitive players but they pale in number compared to the amount of other players who are fine with just 1 weapon

And building weapons and anything is going to get even more expensive if you completely remove EXs from the market- that’s an entire source of income gone since the entire meta with 14* and L3 weapons wouldn’t be compatible with EXs

  • again- I’d argue the main players that keep up with every single new release is only competitive players; no doubt you can still find people right now using akro / still juvolg / legendios / 1 or 2 still on twaalv even— most players aren’t hell bent on keeping up with every new release and thus don’t constantly make new weapons

the most expensive part of making a weapon are things that are unrelated to any form of customization on the weapon, things like augments or ex are honestly more like a one-time (ever) expense that occasionally cost a bit to upkeep in the case of a new augment releasing since you can augment transfer now (not to mention that augments are just mostly cheap in general now), unlocking potentials and limit breaking and enhancing are things that have to be re-done every time a new mainline weapon series releases and without a campaign it's about 4 or 5 million meseta that completely vanishes into the void.

shop access is not really a problem, players who spend often on scratches and periodically get new things that they want to sell will often have premium, if not then it's not like shop passes are very hard to get either, it's perfectly feasible to just hold onto them in order to sell lots of things all at once or if something really expensive ever drops, i do not spend very much on the game at all but i've never felt like shop access has ever been limiting in any way, even aside from that there are a few ways to make money without shop access like pse or rappy events

saying that a weapon needs to have an exactly perfect ex combo in order to feel complete is not true at all?? the ex combo heavily relies on the class and the type of content that the weapon is meant for (arks record or mts or pse, etc.), lots of arks-record specific comboes would be out of place for pse, somebody who doesn't like evade onslaught would see it as a dead slot if it's forced onto a weapon series, there are lots of situations like that where one specific 'bis' combo might be seen as useless rather than incredible, it's anecdotal evidence but from my own experience i have never really been unsatisfied with my weapon's development, there's quite a lot of time between new series releases to bring it up to bis with a desired ex combo

#

also if you are just annoyed at not knowing how to sort ex augments quickly you can just set a single ex into one of the wanted slots, for example if the first slot is just avoid onslaught with nothing else then anything that drops with avoid onslaught will have a pin, then you can check after a burst and automatically sell everything without that, adding more augments into that slot will narrow it down further, it's also not too hard to know what comboes will be expensive, there are a few augments that will ruin the price of a weapon regardless of what the other 2 augments are and there are always a few combinations that are extremely expensive that you can memorize, the modifier really doesn't affect the price too much unless you get 3 of a single letter (not r) so if you just note down a few specific comboes like avoid/avoid hp/turnover or shortage/keep balance/pain rouse and their prices and combine that with the wanted list filtering techniques then clearing out the inventory really becomes a lot easier, just sell everything that doesn't have pins then look through the pinned items to see if there's anything that seems like it would be expensive

#

aside from that i really think ex augments do affect gameplay quite a lot, not everyone likes to or is able to use avoid onslaught well, some people like to build extremely high hp to be super tanky and ex augments add a lot of identity to those playstyles, there is an extremely large difference between the mindsets of somebody who has a min hp build using avoid onslaught and somebody who has 3 lize variants using the shortage/keep balance/pain rouse combo, for a single example, in vael p3 the first player will have to stay mobile to avoid the orange attacks in order to not lose their avoid onslaught stacks (dying is a possibility as well) while the second player can ignore most of the orange attacks and keep on attacking since the damage they take can be healed up quickly and they don't lose as much damage from getting hit compared to if they had avoid onslaught, in general yes playing 'optimally' limits your options for customization a bit since there are some things that are just better than other things but not everybody wants to or cares enough to play optimally

#

to illustrate the point about ex augment variety being important a little more since i feel like i've done quite a poor job of conveying how i see it, there's a very high end of players who want multiple weapons with different combinations because they want to specifically tailor weapons for certain uses like using gradual pressing for a slightly earlier down in a certain arks record, fortitude for more pp at a certain time, bring down or endure pain for an earlier pb, etc. and removing ex variety negatively affects them quite a bit, on the other end of the spectrum are players who don't care about performance very much and just want to tailor their weapon build to whatever kind of playstyle that they like without thoughts as to how it performs in reality, people who want to use trishield+trishield follow, people who want to use critical enliven+follow, etc, and removing that avenue of customization is taking something away from them for essentially no reason since they don't care if that curated augment setup is 'better', in the middle of that spectrum will be most players who just want to have a strong setup and even then having a lot of different augments to choose from in order to accomodate for different skill levels or playstyles or weapon selections is not a bad thing in my opinion

The shop pass part yea I disagree
Players definitely could do with more shop accessibility
But everything else frankenstein pretty much right on the dot imo

Again "raise the gear ceiling to unnecessary high levels" > who cares about that other than the top of the top / TA / competitive players? Most players barely even buy deft AC augs let along care about the absolute ceiling of gear and skill

"You always want to check every ex aug so you don't trash something valuable" > So you want to kill the entire EX aug market instead? Who does that benefit?

#

Sega is already struggling to make content with valuable drops / places worth farming and you really think it's a good idea to kill an entire market and say "they'll make something else"?

I’m not a game designer, but I’m sure they could think of something more interesting with better logistics

#

And the issue with content is more that it’s either a poor “chase the E/T across the map” or a LTQ that’s the sole quest you spam

This is completely untrue and i sort of feel like the intent behind saying something like this might be representative of your mindset as a whole for this feedback but of course you are completely fine in having whatever mindset you please, however this point in particular is not true (at least on global), there are multiple arks records where i have gotten gold without crit fishing or bis gear (i have high end gear but those records were done without the chase series at the time or deft ac, it's very realistically attainable with a relatively small time investment), of course having perfect gear will make it easier to reach gold but there are really not a lot of people who crit fish, it's moreso a problem with the structure of arks records since cocoons are rather short in general and realistically it's an extremely small number of people that are going to crit fish if it were an 8+ minute long mts or other piece of longer content that were the subject of the record and i really think everybody who cares about arks record already does it, pso2 is inherently a casual game so most people just settle for whatever rank they get on their first try or just ignore it entirely, levelling the playing field by making the bis a glorified handout weapon is not going to impact that very much

#

If you want to say that the barrier to entry of reaching the #1 rank is absurdly high, this is also only sometimes true, a lot of times there will be people who place at the top in class records who only use 1 weapon, it's somewhat common for the more unpopular classes and in general the reason why people do things like that is because it's possible and they want to edge out as much of an advantage as possible, if everyone was forced into the same weapon then arks records placement would mostly come down to boss pattern rng and having a really really good pc (did you know framerate affects the animation speed of some actions?) which is much more problematic in my opinion

karmic root
#

And again
Their is only an “absurd barrier to entry” if you’re looking to become a competitive / TA player; ARKS records are open to anyone and everyone can participate regardless of gear. No you won’t be getting gold if you’re running handouts but most people hardly attempt to get beyond silver + if people really are that eager then the non-combative records would have a lot more competition since it’s on a completely fair playing field
