Welcome to Lesson 1 of our Islamic education series. In this lesson, we will embark on an enlightening exploration to unravel the essence of Islam and gain a deeper understanding of its beliefs.

We encourage you to actively ask questions and engage in thoughtful discussions about the lesson. Together, we can foster an environment of learning, respect, and appreciation for the teachings of Islam.

Get ready to embark on a fascinating journey that will unveil the essence of Islam and illuminate its profound impact on the lives of millions around the world.

Let's begin Lesson 1: What is Islam? ☪️

Islam derives from the Arabic word “Aslama”which means "He has submitted," this means that every Muslim submits their will to the Creator.

Our core belief in Islam is that there is only One God with no partner. He does not split into 1 in 3. He is the only true God that has sent all the prophets and the books which are the Gospel, Torah, Psalms, and the final book; the Quran.

Additionally, Islam is not named after a man like Judaism (named after Juda), Christianity (named after Christ), Buddhism (name after Buda), etc.

In Islam, Allah (the name of God) sent prophets to reveal His message to every nation, but we do not know the name of every prophet. We are obligated to believe in every single Prophet that is mentioned to us. One cannot be a Muslim if he does not believe in the likes of Adam, Noah, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus, and the final Prophet Mohammed Peace be Upon All of Them. The Prophet Mohammed PBUH is the seal of Prophets and this is a foundational belief in Islam. To be a Muslim, you must believe that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Mohammed is His final messenger.

We look forward to an engaging discussion today and anticipate your presence in Lesson 2 tomorrow!

Jazakh’Allah Khayr ❤️
