Kataru decided to live with Kame'tire, where she met Anufi, who became like a mother to her. Anufi later introduced Kataru to Mokasa, and the two fell in love. Kataru became pregnant with their first child, Aha'ri, who absolutely adored her father and Anufi. Mokasa taught Aha'ri how to heal, while her mother taught her the Sarentu way. Later on, Kataru became pregnant with their second child, Vutam. When Vutam was born, Mokasa absolutely fell in love with his son, and so did Aha'ri. It was that time of year for the Sarentu Moot, and Kataru asked Mokasa if he wanted to come. He replied that he had a meeting, so Kataru, Aha'ri, and Vutam went to the Sarentu Moot. Mokasa had a secret meeting with Alma and John Mercer, where he informed them about another clan, the Sarentu.
When the RDA arrived at the Sarentu moot, Alma had no idea what John's plans were. When John ordered the RDA to fire at the Sarentu, Alma attempted to intervene. Kataru tried to protect her children, but in the end, she ended up dead along with the other adults. Aha'ri was holding her baby brother in her arms when Harding threw Aha'ri and Vutam at Alma.
Years later, during the TAP program, Alma did her best to protect the Sarentu children. Aha'ri taught Vutam all about the Na'vi way and worked hard to shield her baby brother from harm.

[Chapter 2] The escape

After 16 years in cryo, the resistance came back to rescue Vutam, who was scared and confused in the cryo pod. When he was awakened and saw everyone, he felt happy. He talked to Nor, Teylan, and Ri’nela before deciding to find something to eat. As he left, Mercer and Harding were coming after them, so they all ran to escape.
When Vutam heard what was happening, he came out and saw the chaos, so he hid behind a pillar. He tried to quietly get away but was spotted, prompting him to run. He bumped into Solek, who gave him an earpiece, allowing Vutam to escape. He soon saw Pandora for the first time and thought its beauty was amazing. He followed the dead RDA until he spotted an old building and heard Solek's voice. He ran to him and saw that Solek was injured and tired. Solek directed him to where he could find healing supplies, so Vutam set off to gather what Solek needed.
When Vutam returned, he found Solek surrounded by a few RDA soldiers. Vutam fought them off and helped Solek. Afterwards, Solek told Vutam about the resistance, and Vutam decided to seek out their headquarters. There, he reunited with his friends, his teacher, and Solek. Vutam offered to help in any way he could and asked Solek if he could teach him. From that day on, Solek became a father figure to Vutam.
One day, Priya informed Vutam that the pollution was being caused by the RDA, prompting him to confront them. While exploring the area, he came across the Tarsyu. He radioed his friends to inform them of his discovery, and they came to join him. Connecting with the Tarsyu, they met their ancestor. Nor felt sad and angry about being Na'vi and a Sky Person, so Vutam tried to help him but he preferred to be left alone.
They returned to headquarters, where Vutam spoke to Priya and Anqa. Priya told Vutam that Nor had gone up the mountain, so he decided to find hhim. He climbed and climbed until he saw an ikran, but it flew away. Continuing his ascent, he eventually found Nor. Just then, Priya radioed in to say there was trouble at one of the locations.
Vutam said he would help, and Nor said he'd protect the HQ. Vutam jumped from the mountain into the lake and swam to shore, where he began to run toward where Solek and Alma were. Upon arriving, he saw chaos, and Solek mentioned he was going to lure some of the RDA away from their position so Vutam could defend the area while Alma helped the injured. Alma told Vutam that she needed a med kit, so Vutam went to retrieve one from another building. On his way, he encountered two RDA soldiers and fought them off. After getting the med kit, he came outside and saw an aircraft, but another Na'vi on an ikran took it down. He was amazed by the other Na'vi's bravery, so he ran toward Alma. When he reached her, more RDA soldiers appeared, but Vutam quickly handled them. Alma then came out of the building, and Vutam handed her the med kit. It was then that the Na'vi landed; it was Etuwa, the tsahik of the Aranahe clan. Her father is the olo'eyktan of the Aranahe.
When Etuwa saw that a Sarentu was alive, she ran to him and asked him to go to her father to convince him to join. So Vutam made his way to the Aranahe clan, where he met Ka'nat, Etuwa's father.

After killing Mercer, Vutam was able to relax, but he received an invitation to the Zeswa Migration. He decided to join the Zewa to travel to the heart of the plains. Once Vutam arrived at the plains, he met up with his friends and participated in various games.
After a race, Taylan asked Vutam to check out an abandoned old RDA building. What Vutam found there frightened him; he discovered that the RDA was watching the Great Games. When he told Taylan, they informed the rest of the group, and a meeting was convened. As they were discussing the issue, they heard the Zeswa calling for battle until a flying ship came crashing down on them. Vutam managed to save Anufi's life during the chaos.
Vutam was struck by a large rock that knocked him out for several days. When he finally woke up, he discovered that Harding was responsible for the attack. Fueled by a desire for revenge, Vutam focused on defeating Harding after repairing Sid and taking down some RDA forces.
During his quest, he learned that Alma and Anufi had been captured, prompting the clan to rush in for their rescue. Vutam fought his way through the defenses and climbed up the building to stop the brain scan process. He successfully rescued Alma and then set off to save Anufi.
After running through the building, he finally found Anufi and opened the door to get her out. Just then, two RDA soldiers appeared, and Mokasa showed up to fight them off but was shot several times during the struggle. Anufi stayed with Mokasa while Vutam went to look for an escape route.
Eventually, he discovered that Harding had made a copy of Alma's brain scan, which contained critical information. Vutam managed to put a stop to Harding, and after defeating her and destroying the hard drive, he was directed to the Tree of Echoes, where Mokasa was dying.
With great sorrow, Vutam carried his father to Anufi and laid him down beneath the tree. Mokasa's final words to his son were heartbreaking.
