have you tried downloading both of the channels, the main and stable releases?
Yes same issue
aw thats not good since im not like an expert or anything hopefully someone should be able to assist u or troubleshoot the issue withu
hi again, id recommend you to fill out a github bug report whilst youre waiting for assistance to fix your issue with the audio, in the #📃-faq channel
i just had a look through the discord channels, would you have a go and try installing the Cider 2 latest software, the download link is in the #prereleases-archived "Cider-2-Beta-20.exe
94.14 MB"
I don’t have access to the prerelease channel
right okay, have u tried using other applications i.e. spotify and did audio come through>
yes audio works on other apps and browsers
I'm on Arch Linux, and I have audio on all browsers and other apps like Spotify, but on Cider I have no audio at all. No idea how to enable it. Any ideas?
Oh interesting someone earlier also had the same issue and just left
Just thinking about it, during the cider setup where you’re choosing what theme you’d like to have applied on etc, and there was an option for cider audio processing, something on the lines of that
Have you checked it or kept it unchecked
I’m pretty sure there’s a toggle for it on the settings but it’s just an idea that came to my mind
Yes, there is a toggle in the settings for "cider adrenaline processor" which I have toggled off and back on. There are also a variety of other audio settings.... every single one of which I've toggled off / on. Nothing works. Simply no audio whatsoever. This is the only app I have on my entire system that produces no audio.
god that’s so strange
Uh did you get it from the Microsoft store or
I'm on Manjaro (Arch) Linux - so nope! But I figured it out, thanks for the comment 🙂
aw right, how did you resolve the issue
Figured it out! It was a bizarre settings issue. Something I've never seen before. So to anyone else who has this issue: It requires going into the system settings -> audio -> and then ONLY when the app is running, it will show up at the bottom of the audio settings, and it the app itself was muted by default. I've never seen this behavior before, no other app I've installed has been muted by default. Maybe something in the installer tells the OS to mute by default? Not sure. But sure enough, as soon as I unmuted it, it works great now.
ahhh right awesome, youre the goat, ill use your answer and mention credits in case if someone else bumps into this issue
seems like a silly thing, like "duh just unmute the app lol" but it's just strange that it was muted by default, and since that's the first time I've ever even seen that, I didn't even know to look there.
because tbh ive also nedver witnessed anything like it nor experienced it so i was quite puzzled when i saw more than one person experiencing it haha
hope it helps!
aw cheers
yeah I'd imagine others are probably running into the same I did, and just gave up because it's not normal behavior. Anyway, I really like the app! You all are awesome to develop such a great app for linux, as far as I know it's the only (good) way to listen to apple music on this os 🙂
haha im just one of the server members just like you and i truly do appreciate their hard work
