I just made changes to my spicetify configuration (installed a new theme, new extensions) and I want my backup stored on my computer to have these new changes. However, whenever I do spicetify backup apply to apply my new changes to the backup, it says this:

info A backup is available warning After clearing backup, Spotify cannot be backed up again info Please restore first then backup, run "spicetify restore backup" or re-install Spotify then run "spicetify backup"

I then try to do spicetify clear and it says this

warning Before clearing backup, please restore or re-install Spotify to stock state

Do what it says?

does stock state mean the base spotify installation, and if i clear my backup in the base state doesnt that remove everything and reset my spotify to base . Im really confused at how this backup thing works.

Also it's important to understand the syntax here. spicetify backup apply does not mean apply to backup, but rather: backup, then apply.

The backup doesn't, and cannot back up the themes and extensions you have. It only backs up the unmodified version.

To backup your themes and extensions you'd have to install them locally so you could just zip the folders manually if needed.

Hope that helps.
