there was no change whatsoever

Go into PowerShell/Terminal and type spicetify upgrade and hit enter

Spicetify Marketplace

you wouldn't update Spicetify @quasi girder

you would have to rerun the spicetify marketplace install command

when Marketplace updates you'll see an update icon in the marketplace page

so just wait until you see that
