Hey, im new to arch linux and would like to know if it is better to install spicetify via the aur or the curl commands listed on the docs page and what the difference is.

Use the AUR package. It installs it via pacman like most other software on Arch. Also use the spotify-edge AUR package, not the default spotify one. It's more up to date and will work better with spicetify.
